Hey Diane, it sure looks like your meters are counting! You uploaded 250k today and you have 355,000 in the challenge so, that's a lot of counting!!! :D When you go to look for your meters, just make sure you're not going through old bookmarked links that you might have. Use the links on the concept 2 site.

I'm glad your hands are doing better even though your's fingers are still sensitive. Don't push it!

It is unfortunate as I have been here awhile now and the core group of people are a great group. With or without the comers and goers I know that everybody gives it there all and we have a great team. Now go get on your machines!!!!!!
It looks like Jim K started a new team (and a new affiliation) called Overcoming Disabilities, and many of our teammates joined his team. I see they are doing quite well for a new team, and I wish them great success.

Yes, they do get listed here in the forum, just not immediately. If you enter them late one evening, then they don't get included in the stats till the next day's capture (around 9:30 pacific time), and then they'll appear in the following day's report. So say if you enter them at 10PM PT Thursday, I'll pull them Friday evening, and they get reported Saturday. And much as we try, Izz and I don't always get the reports out right away, but we do get them out!

The OD team has actually been around for a while. They used to have an affiliation as well. I see that their affiliation still there but only Jim currently belongs to it. Maybe they're putting that back together. I wish them well also in any case.

I just ask that if you're going to join us, great! Stay! Pitch in! Be a part of! Post on the forum! Say hi once in a while, and give or get some encouragement! Share something about yourself, about your fitness or health journey, or something funny about rowing! Photoshop your head onto Xeno Muller's body! If you want to be somewhere else, then that's great too -- join them and dedicate yourself to that crew. There are plenty of boats in the harbor for all sorts of crews! But Izz and I put a lot of time, effort, and heart into this endeavor -- trying to learn about our teammates and provide personal encouragement and kudos with very little information to go on. And to have people come and go not once but in some cases a dozen or more times in a season (usually without any word or reason) is very discouraging, for the whole team.

Today also, Roger Gwinn, Tammy Gwinn, Jim Kielma, and Jim (Jay) Kielma Jr. withdrew from our affiliation. Best wishes to all.

Being a virtual team has it's challenges.
I like being part of a group- chose TimbukTOO totally based on the name and have remained, due to the charm of our leaders and the simplicity of it all- which coincides with my own simplicity.

Bob Dylan once wrote:
Some are mathematicians
some are carpenter's wives
I don't know how it all got started
I dont know what they've done with their lives.....

People come and go everywhere in life- and even amongst our team, some erg more at times and less at other times. I like having a seat in the boat and having a place to post my meters- the only teammate I have ever met is a person who rows at my gym. The main thing we all on this team have in common is rowing indoors for exercise and posting to this team's board.
At my gym, the ergs are the least used equipment.

I'll be i n SF the 28th thru the 5th- so if any of you are in SF then we can meet. I'll be in NYC later in the Spring.
I want to get back to SoCal some time this year- I love LA.
And if any of you are coming to Kansas City and want to meet up, please let me know.

But being virtual is cool too.

Can people be forcibly removed from a team - ejected into the water, so to speak?

No, there's no "walk the plank" button... ;)

That would be humiliating.

I like that " walk the plank " image- reminds me of the original Disney Peter Pan cartoon- a variation of the Pete plan?

In that case, I vote for putting repeat offenders in the brig. I say they shouldn't be greeted nor have their rows tracked. They should be per-sonar non grata.

You and Izz shouldn't have to waste your time dealing with these people.

Hey Andrew! Good to hear from you! :)

This team doesn't require strong rowers -- it needs any and all rowers with HEART! And your consistency is a great example to us all!

I too am not a strong rower... As a matter of fact the recent discussion here of damper setting reminded me I had put mine all the way down during my recent shoulder troubles and never started to increase it. I changed it to 3 and am really feeling it!

Anyway, there are no comparisons here based on speed, number of meters, strength, or any other metrics. I think our common ideal is we all want to be a little better tomorrow than we are today. :D

Row strong!
