Total after Week 3:

Marc 10:00.0
Dan 10:00.0
Thomas 10:00.0
Michaelb 10:21.4
Chad 10:21.9.

I put Marc at the top since he has rowed the fastest 1k so far. Nonetheless, three of us are tied for first.

Chad, anyone? Are we racing this weekend?

I am essentially free, but Sat is probably better than Sun. My preference is some time between 14-19 GMT. The tough choice is whether we do this on the beta or the old version. My vote would be the old version, since it is less likely to drop someone on the start, and for the 1k, if the start goes off for some, I think it is worth finishing the row for those remaining, and not mucking around with trying again.

The best time for me is 1800-1900GMT while my two girls are napping. Saturday or Sunday. Either version of RP works. This week will require a new PB to log the cutoff time.

I put one up for 19 gmt on Sat on the old server. Hopefully that works for at least a couple of us.

I wanted to row tonight, take tomorrow off, then do my 1k on Sunday. If I sign up for anyone's 1k, assume that I will not be there, but I am hoping to do so. Depending on how my day goes, today, I may be enticed to do the 1k tomorrow and not row, tonight.

Either way, it will still equally suck :)

I found the results of Dan's and Michael's 1k, which they did with two other fast people:

Dan Burpee 3:06.9
Michael Benvenuto 3:18.6

It looks each of you were pushed, which I suspect are personal bests?

Later,
Thomas

yup, that was a PB for me, although I think I will cross post that and discuss it in the personal best thread just for fun.

I am not sure if I can go faster than that right now, or how many more all out 1ks I want to do, particularly since I need to try the 5k too. But I have enjoyed the challenge and may join up with some more rows down the stretch. Will be interesting to see who wins.

I think Dan can still go faster, although I hardly got a look at his splits.

A new PB for me by over 5 seconds (but the previous was soft). I think there is a little more to come. I pulled back a bit after a 1:31.5 first 500m. Splits were . . .

Dist - Time - Pace - SPM - AvgHR - SPI
200 - 00:36.3 - 01:30.8 - 36 - 144 - 12.9
400 - 00:36.5 - 01:31.3 - 35 - 173 - 13.3
600 - 00:37.4 - 01:33.5 - 34 - 177 - 12.7
800 - 00:38.0 - 01:35.0 - 32 - 179 - 12.9
1000 - 00:38.8 - 01:37.0 - 34 - 179 - 11.3
1k - 03:07.0 - 01:33.5 - 34 - 170 - 12.9

Very nice showing from Michael today, congrats on the PB

Good afternoon,

I am planning on doing my 1k, tonight, but I don't know what time, yet.

Later,

Thomas,

Ignore my result on the race server, it's been a busy weekend and it just wasn't there. I'll put 2 times up next week, and I think at this stage, I need some online competition to really dig in.

Cheers
Marc

Hi Marc, I just got home from work and did see your result before reading here.

I was hoping to do my 1k tonight but work was unbelievable. So, I will try and do it tomorrow. I have to go back to work earlier and hope not to make it an all day thing.

If you like, do your 1k tomorrow or wait, if you still wish to do so.

I am glad your still in it. I am sad to see Michael go, but I am gratefully that Michael went for four weeks. Mike, thanks.

Later,
Thomas

Times for week 4:

Dan 3:06.9
Thomas 3:11.5
Michael 3:18.6
Marc (Pending)
Chad (Pending)

Total for week 4 (3:10 best possible):

Dan 13:10.0
Thomas 13:11.5
Michaelb 13:40.0
Marc 10:00.0 (Pending)
Chad 10:21.9 (Pending)

I came home tonight and got right on the erg. I thought about waiting until next weekend but I know from experience that it is hard for me to do back to back time trial pieces and who knows what next weekend will bring for me. I will probably do the next 1k on Friday.

Tonight's 1k was a bit intimidating. I can feel I have gotten stronger but that 1k was hard. This is another recent best for me compared to last weeks.

I think this Friday will be the best day for me to do a 1k. If anyone is interested, perhaps we can agree to a time.
