Sometimes when I'm too tired or lazy to row for myself, I row for the team. That is, I tell myself to row 1800m(100m/member) or 3600m or 7200m or 9000m(500m/member). If I get up to 9000m, then I know I can(usually) make my preferred row of 10,000 to 13.000m. And, if I'm really worn-out--as today( among other things, I prepare taxes, and right about now the season starts seeming endless), I just look at the last two columns to the right of my erg and try to rack up 90's(5m/member) over and over until I've managed a decent row.
My thought is, if we just really try to rack up some meters for the team, we can surpass those two teams directly above us in the standings--and wouldn't that be a nice accomplishment!

This is how it presently stacks up:
TimbukTOO with 18 crew..13,738,746 meters
Willamette Rowing Club with 33 crew..13,945,019 meters
Saratoga Rowing Association with 50 crew..13,974,969 meters

We have over 236,223 meters to catch up to.
It can be done with great effort..much like the JVC.
The weekend is upon us so perhaps we can try to do this.

Lynne thinks we can..I agree with her.
Do your best and I will put this out as a challenge for all of us as we prepare for March Madness and the NARC.

GO TimbukTOO!!!

Just bouncing by to say hi TIMBUKTOOians - row well ! You can DO this! The more outrageous the goal, the bigger the risk - the bigger the reward! Go for it! Over the next week you could slice the gap !

Golden Oar - I like it!

Post by Kona2 » February 24th, 2008, 10:59 am

Creativity abounds! The Golden Oar Award is PERFECT! I may have to borrow that one!

Million Meter Watch - Chris H is really in the red zone: (8,018 m) to go for that million meter season!

Well done TimbukTOO - great perspective on keeping balance with all of life's priorities!
