What do you want to "run". There is no support for the mac by C2 for their apps (I forget what they are, but they aren't worth that much even in windows) or for rowpro. Are you trying to use VPC or something? Hooking up your PM3 to your mac won't do anything currently.

I tried the Concept2 programs in Windows 2000 Pro under Virtual PC on a PowerBook (OS 10.3.9). They install and run but VPC cannot establish communications with PM3 over the USB port. VPC recognizes the PM3 device but then loses it after a few seconds which makes me think there is a driver problem (common with Windows devices). It would be nice to at least download the data off the PM3 card. I'll continue tinkering as time permits but it looks like a no-go.

Too bad Concept2 uses proprietary cards and programs when it would have been just as easy to use cross-platform data cards and programming.

If you upgrade the firmware in your PM3 to the most recent Beta release (rev 089 or newer available on the Concept2 website) then I think the Mac will properly recognize your PM3 (and therefore provide power to it). Currently the firmware updater will only work under Windows, however.

Things are in the works for logcard support for the PM3 on Mac and a firmware updater is not too far off either. Be patient...it won't be too much longer.

If you have win 2000 pro, do you have a PC you could run that on or did you buy that just for VPC? If you had a PC, and wanted emulation on your powerbook, you could use microsofts free remote desktop client, which is reported to be much faster and more stable than VPC for most everything. I haven't used VPC in years, but usb in emulation has been a long standing problem it seems.

Hopefully, Mark's firmware suggestion will work if you can do that (you can remove the PM3 and carry it to a PC to upgrade), and C2 will f/u with some mac support in the future.

Good luck.

I had emailed the RowPro folks after we bought our Mac and I was told that there is not any support for RowPro currently nor was their plans for Mac on the horizon. For that reason I have kept my PC, only use it for RowPro and concept 2 things. I have not tried to get any of my log card/PM3 data into the Mac seeing as I still have the PC.

I would love to hear if anyone has anyway to run RowPro on a Mac (until I can use RowPro on a Mac, no point for me to have my log card data on the Mac).

Darren

Do I connect the PM3 to the Mac with a USB cord to read the card? Is there some other form of card reader that is more portable? I assume that the utility will be compatible with the most recent Mac OS, i.e. Tiger.

regards,

Bob S.

Probably some sort of driver problem.

Good to hear that there is a Mac logcard utility in the works.

Hi folks:

Please note that it was "expected" by Nov 1. It is not ready.

I have posted a note on the forums asking for Mac beta testers. See:
http://concept2.ipbhost.com/index.php?s ... 972

If you would like to be a beta tester, please contact me (email preferred).

The current expected release date is Nov 16.

-- Scott
