Ignore user function
Ignore user function
please note that we have a new feature on the forum - ignore user. this will allow forum users to selectively ignore individual posters - each ignore post will be replaced with 'you have chosen to ignore this user'. please post with any questions.

<update>There is now a link to your list of 'ignored' users - you can from this page remove ignored users, or add a new user directly.

How odd. For me, even posts that are months old show the substitution ofhjs wrote:The same for me Tom . And I think it is the same one we try to ig.TomR wrote:Bill-

for the actual post of the ignored person. If you do a search for posts of that person, you will see the actual posts in the search return, but if you click through to the thread the posts came from, the substitution shows even on threads from March. You have added this person to your Ignore List. Thanks! The new forum has been almost un-lurkable, much less post-able, for the lack of this feature.c2bill wrote:please note that we have a new feature on the forum - ignore user. this will allow forum users to selectively ignore individual posters - each ignore post will be replaced with 'you have chosen to ignore this user'. please post with any questions.

Same problem for me as I see that "he who shall not be named" has returned from destroying the UK Forum to spam this one but his posts still show up despite hitting the 'ignore' function.hjs wrote:The same for me Tom . And I think it is the same one we try to ig.TomR wrote:Bill-

Problem the same in IE and Firefox but I now note that I have 2 people on 'ignore' and it works fine for one of them and not at all for the other despite them both showing up on my 'ignore' page

Re: Ignore user function
Once you have found that this can reduce the number of repetitive posts by particular persons you have to wade thru on a thread - the answer is DEFINITELYHardGainer wrote:c2bill wrote:please note that we have a new feature on the forum - ignore user. this will allow forum users to selectively ignore individual posters - each ignore post will be replaced with 'you have chosen to ignore this user'. please post with any questions.
