Please excuse a fella posting on your women's forum.

Well done Kit. Any of you ladies who got under 3hr30 has done very well. I trimmed my FM by 19'40" to 2hrs54 and change (and did it as a LWT).
Citroen, that is a great improvement on your marathon. I did this one (my second) as a lightweight too. I felt like just getting to lightweight was a victory in itself!!

Kit44, excellent work on the marathon, our times are really close. You have me beaten by around 37 seconds. I feel like right now, it would be tough work to take any huge chunks off my time, but who knows?

:D Congratulations everyone on your marathons! I'm impressed and inspired! And entertained by some of your stories. I rowed a marathon last June and don't have plans to row it again, but seeing your times makes me want to try for less than 3:30. My time was 3:46 and I was surprised that I wasn't sore or exhausted afterwards. I'll need a suitable occasion--maybe my next birthday? B)

Birthday Marathon

Post by efg » May 15th, 2006, 9:58 pm

I like this idea. If I am near my rower, I will consider a birthday marathon. I may be visiting relatives then, though. I did a Mother's Day Marathon yesterday, but it was a slow one. Almost 12 minutes slower than my personal best of 3 hrs 55 mins. I wasn't exhausted afterwards, but I was a little sore. Today too, but not so bad that I'm planning on skipping rowing.
