New 2k PB today. Slight cold last 2 days and thought about postponing but wanted to get it done. Recent interval work indicated 1:54 -1:55 and so it proved
Gives me some confidence I could perhaps break 7:30 by the end of the season.

Took some time off the erg to replace 32.5m2 of carpet with vinyl floor tiles on Thurs/Fri - Apparently my body didn't agree with the schedule I set as had bad DOMS until Monday. (still a niggle today).

Figured I'd rested enough and my mind felt good, so put in 5k.

Really struggled in the last split - almost HD'd as I paused for a couple of beats a few times, but told myself to get on with it.

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M	Hr
21:07.2	5,000m	2:06.7	172	891	19	175
4:12.3	1,000m	2:06.1	174	900	21	158
4:14.2	2,000m	2:07.1	170	886	20	171
4:15.6	3,000m	2:07.8	168	877	20	178
4:11.4	4,000m	2:05.7	176	906	20	182
4:13.8	5,000m	2:06.9	171	889	18	186
Def deep into the pain cave on this one, but hit target of sub 2:07 average, slightly annoyed I didn't dip under 21mins, but previous open rate pb was 21:55.6 (2:11.5) from earlier this year - previously my "strongest" pb - so I'll take it.
Well done. Having a wobble at that part of a 5k is an indicator that you've given it all you've got, and that's a massive improvement on your open rate PB. What was the stroke rate for that one?

Thanks - yes this one I can def say it was everything I had to give on the day. Took me quite a long time to get up afterwards!

previous one averaged at 28, but 4k was done at 29 - total strokes 631 vs 420.

I've now only got the HM left to attempt at r20, and I'm not looking forward to it at all (which is why I'll give it a go  )

Finally broke 18 min for the 5k. Gym was kind of hot so I probably should have rowed this at home. Was pretty gassed throughout and it wasn’t my best day, but a PB is a PB and a milestone is a milestone!

Awesome 5k row RWAGR. A significant milestone!

For me, I've refreshed both my 1k and 500m PBs in the last couple of days. Got a new pair of decent trainers for rowing and realised I've been losing power with cheap soft soled
