I know you shouldn't really do a 2k TT only 3 days after the last one but after 5k and 4k PBs the last 2 days I thought I'd do it anyway.

International Women's Day was forcing me to plan a 5k PB for today and so I did.

This is for all women out there 😊

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M	HR
17:40.5	5,000m	1:46.0	293	1309	28	169
1:44.7	500m	1:44.7	305	1349	28	161
1:45.2	500m	1:45.2	301	1334	28	166
1:45.4	500m	1:45.4	299	1328	28	168
1:45.7	500m	1:45.7	296	1320	29	169
1:45.9	500m	1:45.9	295	1314	28	170
1:46.1	500m	1:46.1	293	1308	28	171
1:47.9	500m	1:47.9	279	1258	27	170
1:48.3	500m	1:48.3	276	1248	28	171
1:46.0	500m	1:46.0	294	1311	29	173
1:45.3	500m	1:45.3	300	1331	31	174
I started with 1:45, but after the first k I knew this will not work for 5k. So I tried to hang on for 1:46, had to drop off a bit for the 4th km to be able to finish strong and get 1:46 average.
As it is not a bad neither a good day, I am satisfied with the result. Chopping >16s from the old PB 👍
Was looking for this one.....great row!! This is about where I thought you would be and I expect you to challenge 1:45 (17:30) before too long. The 5K can be very brutal and a tough one to gauge. I planned on a harder 5K yesterday but my back was tight from a weight session for I just did a couple mid-effort 5Ks and thinking about CTC Saturday. Again, great work!

Wanted to attack 1:45, but I was not recovered enough. I think I already have it in me or really near to 17:30!
Circumstances not perfect - like for all my current PBs 🤣
This was also meant to be a sighter for the CTC. If I can hold a 1:46 for a 5k straight, I think I can go lower for the CTC, probably ~1:44.5. This is how I will attack it, hopefully also this weekend.

If you don't do 10,000 150kg squats as a warm up, you'll be fine for a sub 1:45 CTC

Looks like 144.5 is what it will take to get you in the first boat. Lay off the squats 😉

Yes, 1:44.6 wouldn't be enough, so I have definitely to leave squats out for the day 😅
