Re: Forum Flyers
Any female flyers out there wanting to try out the July CTC?? We have two boats on the dock just waiting for an F rower to launch them!

Re: Forum Flyers
Okay... Here's what's been suggested.
3x888/1:20r "Crazy Eights Triple Crown"
2 km/100 m/2 km/100 m with 2 min rests between.
Honest 30:00.
500m
I'm going to add the suggestion of 30r20 to the mix simply because I've never done it.
Thoughts? Anyone with strong feelings?

No strong feelings...as all of the suggestions are interesting...and I am up for whatever the team decides.
But if I had to pick one...I'd lean toward "Crazy Eights" as something unique.

Re: Forum Flyers
Same here, no strong feelings. Except that the 2k/100m etc. would be my least favorite choice.
Simple 30' would be my first choice, but only mildly over the others.

I'm with Marc on this -- no strong feelings, but I like that the crazy eights proposal is something different.

No notice to date that there’s a revision in the eligibilty queue? My vote for lazy, hazy Crazy 8s.

I assume someone has to take a decision here.
I vote for a non-ranking piece. The crazy 8s. Or the mean 2k-100m

FF has a club president, no additional officers. Any member can volunteer to:
1) request a tally of suggestions/votes from the Facebook cousins,
2) declare a quorum of interested parties suggesting challenges on the FF team page,
3) tally these few votes, expressions of preference, tactful prioritizations of challenges suggested to date, add the Facebook response,
4) determine terms of challenge, inform Dave Moores or ex-prez Chris Whale of decision, request that Joe Eaton be notified of our choice damn skippy.
If it helps, Jean Gilmore, team member currently on the DL, votes for the 3x(short K) CRAZEE 8s. I sense a trend.

Re: Forum Flyers
Followup on our eleventh hour decision: Checked Forum Flyers Community @ Face Book for challenge posts. No life signs after 29 June. My tally without removing shoes is 5 votes Crazy 8s, 2 votes 30’ continuous. Do we have an entry? If so, Anna Rae can write up the challenge terms and PM to slothful 1 and/or meerkats. What say y’all?

Re: Forum Flyers
Hi all
Thanks for keeping the process moving in my absence . Lost track of time a bit this month - my head was still telling me that we were in the middle of the month celebrating 20th wedding anniversary and spouse's REDACTED birthday, but clearly the month has marched on a bit.
I was about to come on and say that I liked Chris's 500m suggestion because it hasn't been done since 2011 when we were the CTC selectors. However, I did also like the original 3 x 888m proposal from Anna, and I'm happy to see that it has received some broad support from others in the team.
I'm just checking that there is no issue on the CTC site of having an 80 second rest (I don't think so), and then I'll officially notify Joe and Dougie.
Cheers
Dave

Re: Forum Flyers
I decided to row 30r20 as my Pete Plan hard distance for this week, and I now see why there were no takers. My splits were 5.5 seconds slower than my most recent unrestricted rate 30:00 for distance, but the heart rate graph and RPE was practically the same.
I'm looking forward to Crazy 8s next week!

Echoing Dave's thanks for those of you who helped move the process along. Was a busy week at work for me with little time left for biking and erging and no time available for getting on this forum.Slothful1 wrote: ↑July 27th, 2022, 4:03 pmHi all

Was a little worried that I had dropped the ball when I saw Jack's suggestion that I could write it up and send it to Dave - but then I saw that Dave had posted it on the CTC forum so we are good to go. If it turns out to be a horrible challenge for us, you can all throw virtual rotten tomatoes at me.
In other news, Marc V - I am glad to see that Linda has recovered to the point where she was able to post an entry for the July CTC. If we find a few more rowers, we might even get that last boat off the dock.
