Well after my HD earlier, i mowed the lawn, erg coughing all the way, and pondered having a crack at my 1km PB of 3.07.5 set in early June - given i hadnt really done a proper work out.

I did a re-row and raced my old self but set myself the goal of rating 40+ and only seeing 1.31's and 1.32's on screen. No silly fast start - nice and steady

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
3:03.9 1,000m 1:31.9 450 1849 43
0:36.6 200m 1:31.4 457 1872 43
0:36.7 400m 1:31.7 453 1859 44
0:36.8 600m 1:32.0 449 1846 44
0:36.7 800m 1:31.7 453 1859 44
0:37.1 1,000m 1:32.7 439 1809 42

Felt "comfortable" for a 1km. Didnt fall off the rower and recovered pretty quickly. Really pleased but a bit disappointed that i didnt have a sprint in me at the end.

Nice Ian, you will be challenging me for sure, especially if not in immense pain when done. The rating is high but consistent, so I think right for you.

I'd love to see what you will get when you rested and fully recovered. That stroke rate is very impressive, and I have never tried to get used to anything over r32

Terrific work Ian. When I did my 1k PB, I did a 20min warm up, with 30s of 95% effort at high rate to get the tubes clear. Obviously this was all wrong, and I should have half killed myself with 4x505 and then mowed the lawn. Stroke rate is incredible. Nicely done.

Halfway through my 16 week C2 2k training plan and it’s TEST day :?
Wanted to go sub 6:50 and planned to concentrate on a consistent 1:42.5 pace for the first 1,000 then squeeze it down a fraction.
Very pleased with the end result - 7 seconds off my previous (over 50) PB. :D
