Just ordered...

Post by Gabe_G » March 19th, 2020, 6:27 pm

Just ordered a Concept 2 Model D. If all goes well, it should be here on Wednesday. Not being able to go the gym and use theirs for the week has been difficult. Figured this is a sound investment that should last many years, even decades. Even if life returns to normal quicker than anticipated, it will go well with the rest of my home gym equipment. I have wanted to buy one for a long time anyway, now I have an excuse.

Congrats on the purchase :)
Hope it arrives on time. It's great having an erg at home.

Not being able to go the gym
It's an ill wind...

Got mine almost 20 years ago, put a PM5 on it last year, better than ever and no hope of destroying it or even going wrong, it's always there looking at me, almost like a dog or a shell that wants an outing.

PM6 will have an alarm clock or warning siren saying action is needed; and will start showing HR as soon as it gets a signal, with no button pressing from me, if only to say I've warmed up and can get a little busier.

Not many things compare to your first row on your own erg.

Make sure you check the max drag factor. Mine was 242
51 HWT; 6' 4"; 1k= 3:09; 2k= 6:36; 5k= 17:19; 6k= 20:47; 10k= 35:46 30mins= 8,488m 60mins= 16,618m HM= 1:16.47; FM= 2:40:41; 50k= 3:16:09; 100k= 7:52:44; 12hrs = 153km

Just ordered Sunday as well, should be here Thursday (fingers crossed.) It's been one week since my last row, and I'm practically climbing the walls from the lack of it. My household agreed to expense because of the expectation our shelter in place is going to last a long time.

Thanks! I will check the drag factor. Congrats to others who ordered theirs. Hopefully you get it soon. I am in the USA, MN specifically, and ordered from Amazon Prime late in the evening on the 20th. They said I would get it on the 25th. I was skeptical, but ordered anyway. I want one regardless if life goes back to normal. UPS has it in transit and it should be here tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that it makes it, and without it being damaged.

Someone mentioned here that all the C2s were selling out and backordered. I read that comment (was the virus thread in the training sub forum). So I checked it out yesterday and was still able to order it for a guaranteed delivery date of March 31st. Showed them still in stock. Maybe other countries don't have any available?

Hope you all get yours soon.

Received mine. Box was damaged, so I crossed my fingers. Seems to be fine. Nothing obvious broken. I only had time to set it up quickly. I'll take it for a spin tonight.
