Hey folks! I'm baaaaaack!
Or at least trying to get back!
Totally missed the dog day challenge!
After a sloooooow healing leg wound, various house guests, out of town travel, colds, and a pulled rib, I get to start all over again at rowing consistently. UGH!
But love a challenge and now that football is back I can watch and row!
Are others ready for the challenge(s)?
Fall Team Challenge 2019
Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
Hello there Sharkey, I am sorry that you have had to cope with various health issues.
I haven’t visited here for a while, so it’s good to see you back and hopefully … feeling fit enough to square up to the metal beast again.
At the beginning of the season, I tripped on some uneven paving, went flying and landed awkwardly on my left knee. Hardly any rowing then for about 8 weeks because it was very painful to bend my knee.
Thankfully, I’ve now managed to get back to regular rowing but still being rather over cautious and doing it all at pootle pace.
I completed the Dancing Dog Challenge and plan to attempt the 100,000 metre Fall Challenge - I decided that this year, the 200,000 metre challenge was 100,000 metres too far.
Hello to all the new or newish ladies who have recently taken up this sport - it’s a wonderful way to stay fit ( or in my case fittish ). Best wishes to you all and I hope that the erg will provide you with as much pleasure as it has provided me.
I see that Holly hasn’t posted on her thread for a while - hope that the diet and exercise plan haven’t hit any major setbacks?
Otherwise Sharkey, it looks as if it’s just me and thee ( the two Queens of Speed ) at the moment.
Jill

Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
And what, pray tell, is this 100,000m Fall Challenge?
Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
I'm pretty sure she was referring to the 'Holiday Challenge' which runs from Thanksgiving (11/28/2019) through Christmas eve (12/24/2019)
There are a different levels 100 K and 200 K.
As for me. Despite a good start, good football, and best intentions I haven't managed any rowing this week.
<excuse mode on>I'm on-call at work and only getting about 4 hrs of sleep so giving up a half hour of sleep to row, just isn't happening. <excuse mode off>

Sharky, apologies not necessary. Much admiration to you and so many others out there who have to try and fit in some form of exercise after spending a long and tiring day at work. Not easy.
I’m lucky because I can row first thing in the morning but if I'd had to do so later on in the day when my energy/motivation levels were well on the wane … to quote you, “ just isn’t happening. “
I belong to an indoor rowing club and when it comes to signing up for a challenge, I'm only used to navigating my way around our forum, so I hope that I'm not giving you duff information.
If you haven’t done so already, then go into your Concept2 Log Book, click on the Challenges link and this will give you all the necessary information.
If you decide to join a team then click on the Teams link.

ambo, I was referring to The Fall Team Challenge 2019.

Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
I was bummed that I had to bail on the Fall Challenge, but we all got sick with something going around. Between getting myself over it and dealing with it landing my mother-in-law in the hospital, it was just too much. But I'm still rowing!
