Think you need a bit more drag Andrew and lower rating. First 300m 42 orso. Drag 150.
@ Henry, Df150 it is then, it'll be your fault if i beat Keiths time :D
@ Martin, yep i'll reduce my spm too.
I'm looking forward to the next one i do.

Would give a reason to work harder

You need some reserve the first 300m, from there you give more and the last 100 its all in. Still some fade but not to 1.30 orso. The last 100 matters a lot.

Got under 7 minutes for 2k for the first time today with a 6:59.3. Really pleased. Went off steady and hammered the last 500m.

Splits:

1.47.2
1.46.7
1.45.3
1.40.1
Woo Hoo!
Awesome!
Congratulations on joining the sub-7 club.

12k isn't easy to start with but it does get easier with repetition. Try and focus on it being 6 x 2k or 4 x 3k just to break it down into bite size chunks.

Don't think about how much more you need to do, but remember how much you have done. At halfway keep reminding yourself you have done more than you need to do

Haha same here, did the 2nd 7k yesterday. It's not the endurance which is the challenging part, it's the mental part of doing the long time. Not looking forward to the 12k :P

Cheers, 500 is to long to really trash, or you should be extremely fit. For the rest, its more a sideshow for you. Won,t help much with 2k. But still you got a nice string now from 500/10k well done!
