Nice one, Henry.

I didn't enjoy the session when I did it earlier this month. Thought I'd use the first one as a pacing tester, but at the end of it didn't feel like doing it again at a faster pace! I've tentatively put it into the training plan for the last day of June, but it will depend if it will make a difference to a bottom boat or not.

Ctc done and dusted. Pretty horrible

Summer started over here. Warm 26, and getting hotter. Work out outside, so nowhere to hide.

20x 300 rest 1, dr130 rating 30, 28 strokes per rep.

First 19 between 133.8 and 135.3 last one 129.5 18:51.7 134.3

Not used to this at all, rating is to low, but not used to more so went with it.
Well done Henry, very strong!

My plan is to give it a try on Wednesday, but I'm still not 100% fit, had to stop training for 9 days and only did UT2 training (70km) and 1 weight training last week. Summer started here too, >35°C this week, so not the best preconditions

Did not like in either, am just like Martin not feeling overly great, but wanted to give it one serious go, and that was this. I used to do more goes at ctc also, but not anymore  Also do the ski ctc, so its 2 anyway. Ski was done in cooler conditions.

Martin, just give it a go, don,t overthink it. Its mostly long, and pretty rapidly not fun anymore. Take one rep at the time from there.

Mighty effort Henry especially for someone not enjoying it! I must be a bit weird because I actually quite like these sort of sessions - you can see the end of each interval from the beginning and just set a line in the sand and hold it (just like Henry did it!)

Not doing this much lately, weather did play a role also, overheated.

After a while, certainly from 15 reps in, breathing becomes very tough, and does not calm down enough, so the rest feels like almost no rest.
And yes, apart from the last, which was all out. Its every rep the same, I often count strokes.

Thanks Lindsay!
That will be really fast, that suits me :D

Any idea how to pace that? 200 and 100 all out for sure, the first 3 I thought of 1:30, but I'm really unsure!

Yesterday we had >30°C even at 8pm, no way to try the CTC, weekend should be cooler, I'll try it then :)

For me I guess I will start with a 500 @>1:40 and try to get faster each one - hard to know I guess until you have a go - it is one of those ones where the first time might be a learning experience.
Hope it cools down soon (I will be there in a few weeks) but better than cold and grey I think. my daughter is loving it!

I'll take a look what pace other rowers do, and may do it twice if the first one was too fast/slow.

Did the CTC today, time was 19:51, as I'm still not feeling 100% fit I'm pleased with that, although I had to slow down after rep 8 from 360W to 350W, the last 2 faster. That was HARD! Next CTC will be better for me :D

I'm sure this is one that will get better with a "practice" run Martin.
That CTC result is strong but I am sure would be faster if you had a clear run at it.

Thank you Lindsay!
I'll try to do some fast stuff to prepare for this CTC, I did almost no speed work over the last 2 months, only UT2 and longer hard sessions, good for my aerobic fitness, but not good for fast sessions :D
