@Rod - Congrats Rod! Do you have all the records now?
New 500m world record on the skierg. 1k training is paying off on the 500m as well. Shaved off 0.8 seconds on my previous WR.
Died properly at the end, I think my last stroke was 1:30 or something

Thanks Marius, I've got 7 of the 13, the others are pretty tough so not sure I can get any of them....but I'll be trying!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
not sure if this is PB or PW: Heart rate hit 186 today during a 5x1k / 1'R (on my last rep).
That was rough, but I finished with a faster split than my previous 5x1k.

37:54.2 for 10k. Happy with the result. It is a post-60 best. Almost quit half way thru, but I am glad I held on.
A shout out to Rod Chinn, above. 8158m for 30min by a 60 year old lightweight is amazing. Overall, for all male lightweight of any age, he currently ranks 12th out of 537. (I am also amazed that he apparently has a max HR of 207 -- which is about 50 bpm more than mine ).

Thanks Remo, I'm hoping to improve it a wee bit more yet as my last 5 minute split was at 1:46.3 pace and I was going at sub 1:40 pace when I crossed the line so too much left in the tank I think!Remo wrote: ↑October 11th, 2018, 1:44 am37:54.2 for 10k. Your mention of my max HR made me realise I'd given the wrong percentage on my post....it should have been 87% of max as my max is 199 (lowest is 38) not the 207 my useless maths indicated!

Super job Rod! Still in the zone...
Me today. Third go at 1min max effort and managed 1:30.0/500m which gave me 333m (DF=133). Still feeling my way with this one...fun though.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
For the 100m I need to gain at least 30kg's to get back to my max weight, that's not going to happen
Also don't think the 10K will be mine, I have never trained for such long distances so I really don't know, but it looks to be out of my range.
Kristian has also "promised" to take back the 30' open world record from Justin, so I guess we will see a big number on this one pretty soon as well.
5K and 6K looks doable at the moment, just need to train for longer distances than 1K
I see there is a new 2k world record for 40-49 set yesterday, 6.22.2(old 6:23.3). Still a relatively "slow" WR, so I don't think I need much 2K training to get it. I'm getting back on Pete's plan right after the Skierg world sprints to get some 2K training.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
100m is very much about raw power, no 30kg needed but certainly a lot of strenght.-marius- wrote: ↑October 15th, 2018, 3:16 amFor the 100m I need to gain at least 30kg's to get back to my max weight, that's not going to happen

In rowing you where pretty good a longer work, don,t think that will be different for the skierg. Ofcourse don,t know how you feel using the machine, but I find it relative easy to do the longer stuff, without training very much meters.
I have faith in your results, Kristian is certainly a strong guy, dont know how much he has left to improve. His 146 hour is certainly not soft
Edit, re new Wr bit out of the blue this guy, results are very uneven, but he has lots of potential. In general, the skierg results are still relative young, if a guy who has the potential to pull 5.40 on the rower, would put that same effort in the skierg........ at first I did nit think the skierg could match the rower in times, but now begin to doubt that. You seem to be faster on the skierg...

Hjs- I was not talking about 30kgs of fat Not sure how strong Dan really is but I haven’t been scared of the weights he posts on insta.
Did a 2k today with a plan to just dip below 6:30 as I’m doing only sprint training now. Had a bit more left than I thought. A couple of stops around the 4 minute mark as well as I have a sore throat and running nose, so needed to really motivate myself to finish..
Well..it ended in a new WR(and same as my row pb) Gives me a nice starting point when I start the 2k training in end of November.

30kg muscle... only possible if you use all the peds possible. Lean bmi above 26/27 is max possible, with your height 100kg ok ish lean is about max.
Ps cruel you only let the man keep that record so so shortly but he might go again, his pacing was pretty poor, but again you could pull 6.10/12 if you go seriously
