TimbukTOO Team Room
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hello everyone, happy to be rowing again after an elbow injury in the summer. It’s great to be back on this team! I’m trying to ease back in slowly so keeping my goal at around 6000 - 8000 mts per day. Like many of you, I run as well, but our fickle Texas weather has been keeping me inside a lot of late. Keep up the great job everyone! The daily team meters are very encouraging
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I hope your arm is ok, Gabi.
As for me, I was chugging along nicely, but now I suspect I have the Flu or a really bad cold. It felt like a fever last night and early this morning, but now it seems just cold symptoms. Either way - taking at least one day off.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Welcome to your bi-weekly update from the Oldest Chaplain in the Army. The US government shutdown has resulted in the cancellation of my trip to Coronado, CA. The good news: I can keep contributing meters in the coming week; the bad news: you have to put up with my annoying updates! In the grand scheme of things, we currently stand in 35th place, but 4 or 5 teams climb or descend the ladder with the contribution of a single rower. What is the moral of the story? Your meters count! Keep them coming! For teams our size (21-50 rowers) we are in 3rd place out of 19 teams. Before I give you the laundry list of rowers and their meters, I want to acknowledge the outstanding performance by John S. who has poured in a staggering 306,905 meters! I also want to commend our two youngest rowers, Bel C. (15) with 92,021 meters and Joey W. (12) with 7,356! Great job to both of you!

This is a great time to reflect on how far you have come this month and also focus on where you want to be in the future. I initially wanted to get to 230K meters and surpass 1 million meters by the end of the Virtual Team Challenge. I feel very confident that I will surpass the 1 million mark for the season and should also come close to my goal of 230K for the Virtual Team Challenge. As I continue to transition from being a runner first/rower second to rower first/runner second, I need to focus more on my diet playing a larger role in weight management. US Army Chaplains don't get any special "dispensations." I need to be just as physically fit as any other Soldier--even at the age of 56. Keep on rowing and keep on sharing your success stories!
