"The gang's all here!" It's been 10 or 11 years? But, missing Duluth Moose.

As the saying goes, the hare knows what the hare wants...
K2 will be back with more bunny trails in a week.
Hey, do you hear that music? It must be Free Association Time...
... K2 is golfing in the desert
... the domain of Wile E. Coyote
... wiley like a fox
... hmmmm, what would Aesop have to say about The Fox and the Golfer?

BG & 27,
Must have been a boring Christmas eve back in 2007 to be joining a group of Lunatics instead of celebrating.
But then nobody said I was normal. Rowed a 10K piece today first one in many moons.Felt good. Slowly getting my stamina
back. Glad both of you and K2 are still here to check up on me and keep me from going off the rail.
danno
PS: We four must be the oldest Lunatics left and I too miss Moose!

Can't let Richard Feynman's birthday pass without a first-hand account of one of his famous Physics lectures:
"There were 183 of us freshmen, and a bowling ball hanging from the three-story ceiling to just above the floor. Feynman walked in and, without a word, grabbed the ball and backed against the wall with the ball touching his nose. He let go, and the ball swung slowly 60 feet across the room and back - stopping naturally just short of crushing his face. Then he took the ball again, stepped forward, and said: "I wanted to show you that I believe in what I'm going to teach you over the next two years."
However... some physics teachers are better than others.

On this day in 1804, the Lewis and Clark Expedition departs from Camp Dubois and begins its historic journey by traveling up Steve W's Missouri River. Granted, not a good day for Native Americans, but we will just focus on the spirit of adventure.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Hard to imagine the task undertaken by Lewis & Clark at that time. The MO River today is a highly engineered river much different than what they encountered. My most common put-in is near the Lewis & Clark Boat House & Nature Center in St. Charles, MO. The boat house is also the finish line destination for the MR340 & Race For The Rivers races. Large statues of Lewis & Clark & their dog, Seaman (yeah, don't misspell that one) are just down the bank in Riverfront Park.danwho wrote:

Wife & I did our annual Mother's Day paddle on the MO River yesterday. Took out at Sioux Passage Park & was another good day to be on the river. Paddled to the confluence of the MO & Mississippi last weekend, where Lewis & Clark sailed from on May 14, 1804.
Hopefully, will enjoy plenty of meters on the MO this season!

Today, Sherman, we shall pull the handle of the WABAC time machine without looking, to select a random figure in history.
And oh, what a figure!

Snort. This is what I look like, relaxing happily on the couch, before I realize that I haven't rowed or biked, yet, today.danwho wrote: Today, Sherman, we shall pull the handle of the WABAC time machine without looking, to select a random figure in history.
I'm so looking forward to seeing tomorrow's random figure in history. Thanks for the fun, and stats, danwho ...
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I've been catching up on some 2001: A Space Odyssey trivia. The 50th anniversary was in April, but I didn't get to catch up with the articles until now. Some behind the scenes trivia I might have preferred not knowing. Can't argue with the results, but I started feeling pretty bad about how Arthur C. Clarke was treated. Anyway, Europa popped up in the news again with new findings from old data suggesting that there may be plumes of perhaps some kind of water vapor that may contain building blocks of life. May be... perhaps... may contain... Enough to consider a course correction? It's just a different Luna, right? Fortunately, our trusty, wiser, and more experienced astrogator will be taking the wheel of this bus shortly. So don't glue yourself to the seat just yet.
(Sometimes you got to take what these 1:4:9 dimensioned black monoliths have to say with a grain of salt.)
