Do you train in the hours preceding bed time? If so, that's a common problem. You may want to tone down the difficulty of any session done quite late.

When I started this thread it was less about sleep requirements going up as a result of simply feeling tired from training, and more about long term correlations between fitness levels and sleep requirements as general energy levels rise in line with teaching your body to deal with increased stress in the form of physical exercise. Does this make you more resilient?

I’m one of those that get away with 4 or 5 hours sleep a night regardless of how much or little training I do. When I go to bed I’m normally asleep in 10 minutes or so and generally sleep right through.

Also do a manual job hauling heavy gas cylinders around for 10 / 12 hours a day for the last 20 years.
