No, they all got deleted...

It was nothing fancy, just a button a single user could post blog entries and other members could read those and comment.
Some where very basic, others lots of effort.

Maybe others have a comparable format?
If I would creatie something simulair, which functionality would be necessary and which would be nice to have.
I have never seen the deleted version, but what I can imagine would be great if the workout to be registered has some easy to enter workouts, even better would be if a workout could be imported from the log.concept2.com site. No idea if that's possible?
Please don't hesitate to bring on some fancy wishes

Ed, If you're a big strong guy you can get through a 2K with brute force. It might be a "good" 2K, but that word is only relative. It certainly will not be your best possible 2K. With Shawn's training (I believe his goal was to break 1K records), he would never reach the kind of 2K times that the Elite guys can get. But he can certainly "fake" his way to a decent PB. I wouldn't be surprised if he was in the low 6:00 range, maybe even slightly under 6. That may seem like an amazing time to us regular folks but again, it's all relative.
To put it in perspective, there are Elite athletes that can break 6:00 on multiple 2Ks. Hell, the world record 5K is a sub 1:30 pace.

I also would bet that he could give an Olympian a run for his money in a 1K sprint.
Sub 6, never ever  Shawn is very much a sprinter, if you look at his 500 and 1k, his slowdown is pretty big, no doubt he would pull a solid 2k, but on his current training nothing more.

Do you think? Not that any of this matters as he probably doesn't care

No I don,t think that, I know!

He certainly cares, if he could he would pull it right now, zero doubt. He tried hard on the 1k, but no sigar, yet. 2k will never happen.

People have already asked! i can gather from Doug's response in this thread that it will remain locked permanently.

Damn shame.

And the thread had actually gotten back on track with Ed's post. Sometimes best to just let things flow unless it gets seriously out of hand with either threats or profane language etc.
I also feel it was locked a bit abruptly no one was being hurt imo just noise/nonsense which is easily ignored. Ranger's thread was a lot more aggressive and had 1100 more pages.
You can have the moderator job.

It gets to a point where you can't be a***ed with all the s**** and junk that turns up on any thread where Paul45 is involved and locking it is easier than trying to purge that stuff. If Paul hasn't posted by the August Bank Holiday I'll consider unlocking the "Shawn Baker" thread. But every time Paul promises to behave or promises not to visit the forum that lasts about a week. There is a very high level of temptation to get PaulH to enact a permanent ban on Paul.

Doug, I won't hold it against you should you succumb to temptation.

That sounds fair enough and I do not think you would encounter much resistance if a permanent ban was forthcoming. The loss of Ranger did not bring down the forum I think people who like that kind of noise might have initially missed it but it is soon replaced.

Would be a good idea to get somebody to add personal blogs to the site, must be a simple bolt on?

I've received Paul45's request, and will comply after a cooling off period.

Simple bolt-ons are rarely as simple as you might expect. It's not in my power to add such things, and I wouldn't expect to see them I'm afraid.

Good luck to you all.
10th time, little Paul throws another tantrum, most people don,t want you to leave, but listen a bit and not mess up thread after thread.
Post less, post about your own work.
Do not say every session how hard you worked.
Do not tell others what they Should do, but could, there is no single right way.

And most important, ignore me, including this post :P

It is a shame that the information in those training blogs has been lost.
