It appears I lucked out. I did a race yesterday and today, after a couple of k's the monitor stopped working. Glad it didn't happen during the race . About 2 months back, C2 sent us a new monitor because the USB port was faulty (they were great about this!) The batteries that were installed were less then stellar. They were down to 0%. You might want to check (in the utilities) on your monitor to see what kind of battery life you have left. Just think if you were near the end of a marathon and it went dead .

Anybody from Ireland have any recommendations for a good Irish dish? If not, I'll check the web later to see what I can find. I should try a bottle of guiness again someday. It was about 20 years ago when I last had it. Maybe my taste buds have matured since then .

My USB port can be quite finicky also. Sometimes the connection just cuts out during a row. Maybe I should tell C2.

14k row for me today. We should be out in the English countryside now.

Keep on rowin, eh.

Jim

Well we flew right over the W.I.S.E team to wind up London.
Tomorrow we head off to Paris. It won't take too long as the boat is traveling at about 200,00 meters per pay.

The picture is outside a pub in Kensington. 2 of the people are full professors and 2 others are CEO's. Their names, companies and universities are not revealed in order to protect the guilty

Keep on rowin, eh.

Jim

Since I have injured my back 5 weeks ago, I have resumed running and do not feel any pain.

Francois

Interesting, When I first started erging I couldn't get my knees past 90 degrees at the catch (90 degrees thigh to shin, not the angle of the lower leg to the ground) without some discomfort. Now it's no problem. I'll be interested to see how (if) the stronger quads effect hill climbing when running. It should be fun .

Just curious Franscois (if you don't mind my asking), what kind of time can you do in an olympic distance triathlon?

Sorry, I think we're getting sidetracked here and need to get back to those rowing pictures .I agree John. Hey hosers, great rowing. We have all ready blew past London and we are on our way to Paris.
This is one of the shortest legs of our journey. The boat is travelling at over 200,000 meters per day so we should make it to the City of Lights tomorrow.
Now this is perhaps one of my most favourite cities in the whole world.
Great for walking around, sipping cafe noir, walking around and watching life go by.

Jim

I've done several Triathlons. The last one was in 2000. It was a very hilly course and I did it in 2:19. My weakest point is the swim, just under 30 minutes. I have lots of reasons why I don't swim much. They all make sense to me but basically the cold water isn't that inviting . But, one step at a time, a bit of running and a bit of biking and you never know .

Have you ever read the book "Total Immersion?" I used to teach a masters swim class. The book was a great resource. I think there is some kind of saying, something about, "Those who can, can and those who can't teach" .
