hey yall! jeez louise. i feel SO deprived!!!! I haven't rowed...in like...3 weeks. Aggers.

Oh well. Guess what Sara!!! We're almost there!!!! I am so psyched. Wear something super weird and attention-getting so i recognize you. That'll make the whole event much more easy for you won't it JK

But I can't wait to meet you and i can't wait to row!!!!!

Love and xxxxxxxx to everyone!

Lyd

P.S.
Sara....do you think the boys camp is going on at the same time ours is? That would really rock my socks. At my last rowing camp, the girls and guys lived on the same floor/hallway and the counselors lived on another floor. THAT was freaking sweet. But Navy might be a little more strict lol. How many normal/non-rowing outfits are you bringing? I have no idea how to pack *sigh* what a tough life I lead lmao

P.P.S.
Ross, I'm getting all your PM's I promise, but i have literally ZIPPO time. I am in swedenland visiting the family, and then straight to rowing camp. I should be back to normal (whew) on July 1st-ish. But then I start work wicked soon. Whew. Intensity. My life is a never-ending 2k. Jk lol. That WOULD be miserable.

Anyways, take care luv bugs

Lyd
.

hi, just joined this site a week ago. I sended info to coaches in the past couple of weeks and the majority of them have responded. All you have to do is go to the school's crew team web site and they'll have a recruiting questionaire. You can just submit it online

I rowed in CSSRA's in a seniors men's quad for city honors. 3 days of practice before, and 3 crabs later due to equipment breakage, and it was a race to forget :-/

ouch, we had a rough season with equipment too, nothing sucks more than loosing a race because somthing broke, happened in two races i was in. they were both composite smoothies, in the first one the guy infront of me at 1250 meters we were a deck off brockville in first, his oar handle and shaft seperated, he caught a crab recovered and just sat there and we barely held on to 2nd.

the second one was at Ontarios (provincial champs) finals in the junior A 8+. 6 seats oar broke in almost the same way but instead he undid his oarlock, threw out his oar, and jumped out 1000 meters left and in the lead. we finished in last with 7 rowers...

i even have a picture of that one.
http://storage.msn.com/x1pGHpas_o48lkp9 ... gmA

i cant complain about cssras though. we came 6th in senior lwt 8 which isnt bad at all for us because '4 of us were an age category under and 3 of us were a weight category under... i was both

Hah, the crazy happenings of crew races. Also for that senior heavy quad, i was the only one in the boat who was a senior, by 2 and a half weeks, or a heavy weight.

Highschool rower here,

Raced at Canadian Henley, junior womens 8 and 4, 6th place in both but it was a big deal for us to make it to finals. Doing a 2k every day for 6 days straight was a little much.

We had some equipment problems to, punched a hole in our 4 when we were getting it off the racks ( luckily we had another boat to race in), coach was pissed since we were the top rowers on the team, we blamed it on the boat above ours that instead of having a top nut had a long screw sticking out, and of course we blamed it on the cox, everything is always there fault. A crazy old local boat repairman ended up fixing it for us for a bottle of rum in return.

Dont go to stotes cause my team is a club team and stotes is only scholastic, used to go to head of the fish, just go to tail of the fish now, head of the charles is a big race for us, and our end of the season race is head of the schuylkill.

our club is planning to send down a junior 4 to charles. We had a lightweight mens 4 + that won last year but the juniors didnt qualify... to qualify you are suppose to be within 5 percent of the winning time... they were 5.3 percent off

so I'l try out for the boat but the boat might not even be accepted in the draw

we are sending an 8 to HOTC and prolly 3 8s and a four or something along those lines to HOTS and does anyone here go to Head of the Hooch? It just surpassed HOTS as the second largest regatta in the nation, its local for my team so we go every year and its intense
