Awfully quiet around here! Great season everyone, Although it's technically not over yet, I'm starting to think about the new season and goals. I would like to at least get a hm in for the marathon challenge, anyone else planning on partaking in this challenge? I plan on getting a few more meters this weekend to finish the season, then I'm out of town for the rest of April. I need 2mill more meters to hit 10mill lifetime, I plan on hitting that goal next season. I hope everyone is doing well, and especially for Dave and his recovery, hope to see him back strong next season. Hope to see everyone back on May 1st.

Hi Doug, I am also looking ahead to next season. I used to set crazy high goals and flame out at the end of each season, usually from injury. So now I am trying to set more realistic goals. I am thinking 40k to 50k per week, or between 2 and 2.5 million for the season. And keeping my SPM rate down below 20.

I hit 12 million lifetime this past Thursday.

Best wishes to all!

Hey Jim, congrats on hitting 12 million lifetime. I'm torn on trying to keep my spm down below 25. I noticed last years world record on the half marathon by Eric Murray was rowed at a spm of 30 and split of 136.6, which is unbelievable. I notice you use the ski erg, how do you like it?

Hi Doug, I love the SkiErg and try to do 25% of my meters on it. It works a different set of muscles than the rower; between the two machines I think I am working them all now. I find it is a lot harder than the rower; that may be because I have rowed for years and am fairly new to the SkiErg.

When I was rowing for speed a couple of years ago, my SPM pace was 30+. Now I am rowing at a pace average of 1:57/500 and keeping it at a SPM < 20 and my drag factor around 170.

I've been wanting to try the ski erg out, Thanks you convinced me to give it a try. I searched out a few within 10 miles of my house. I'll make that a goal in the next couple of months. I'll be out of the states for a little over a week and look forward to starting the new season the day I get back. Best to everyone.
