I think I should just set everybody a time for the end of the month and you can smash them on day one, that'll get us some boats well up the rankings.

I will do one soon--weird thing, this morning got up and had a pulled ham string. I have no idea why. It's just really tight. I imagine it will loosen up enough to at least row tomorrow and maybe I can do a decent 10K Tuesday.

Thanks also for encouraging sadly we have a prehistoric pm2 and am unable to do what you suggested. I expect that a pm3 is probably on its way for my 40th. I will have to spend the row working out in my head how fast I need to go. I did keep a steady average pace of 2.11.3 and then sped up at the end. As it is the school holidays I will probably have more time to attempt the distance several more times. Hope the leg feels better, Phil is doing his physio religiously, I think he is hoping that he will be able to put in an attempt towards the end of the month.

Having just got the PM3 for Christmas, I can relate. Did you bother to write down your splits last time? If so, get a big piece of paper or something and write your splits on it and put it where you can see it when you do your next attempt (make sure it's secured so it won't blow away or anything). It's not as visual as ReRow, but you'll see what average you are aiming for as you go along and that's a bit easier than just trying to hit the target by the end. It will also stop you from trying to hold to fast a pace at the beginning.Thanks also for encouraging sadly we have a prehistoric pm2

Started too fast, around 2'02. Finished around 2'10 with last minute 2'06.
Next time I will try to start slower.

Was: 59 Daren m Taff Attack II 43:32.4 2:10.6 157.1
Now: 58 Daren m Taff Attack II 42:56.5 2:08.8 163.7
So, not much change in places, but more than 30 seconds knocked off which I'm happy with. It wasn't a "hard as I can" effort, so there should be more to come. I just need to get the mental part sorted out. I'll try for sub-2:08 and a 42:40 at least, then move the goalposts when I've made it.
It is actually a little faster than my ranked 10k from December 19th (43:05.1), which is encouraging after 6 weeks off. Was 775/1046 (74%) of the heavyweights. Now 97/157 (62%) of the lightweights.
