Hey all, have not been rowing much lately and when I do its a consistent 8500 meters. On weds. night, yes Thanksgiving eve my wife was put in the hospital with complete renal failure and we almost lost her. She is now on the road to recovery and I have gotten 1 or 2 rows in to keep my sanity.

This with my wife are progressing and she is out of the hospital. During this time I have rowed when possible and been consistently rowing 8500 meters. Actually banged out a 10k+ today and it felt great. Stroke rate was good and 500 meter splits were good considering the speratic training. My fitness is good and I look forward to being able to be more active again.

So glad to hear she is out of the hospital!! And glad you were able to keep your sanity on the erg. I guess it's not just the torture device Glen B says it is....

so ya'll are gonna have to row an extra 2k a day for me, ok? LOL

i will be back soon as i can. if the worst part was not between my thumb and hand, i would probably row anyways but i just cant grip the handle at all right now other then one handed....

I dont remember Bill the cat- but I remember Fritz the cat and Felix the cat. I am either too young or too old-- and that is my story and I am sticking with it.

I dont remember Bill the cat- but I remember Fritz the cat and Felix the cat. I am either too young or too old

Timeline: Felix the cat (1920's???) --> Fritz the cat (1960's) --> Bill the cat (1970's - 80's)

I think that we're probably all too young for the original Felix but I do remember watching the later incarnations as a child. Fritz sort of died out in the early 1970's I think and I never got into him (it?). But Bill the cat was in that sweet spot of my high school days (late 1970's) when Bloom County was the Sunday comics equivalent of the modern day political and cultural satirists and talking heads. That and Doonesbury were my Sunday morning reading of choice.
