Thought I would do a poll to see peoples views with regards to the location of the CRASCH-B’s which is held in Boston every year in February.

The question arose from the one I posed yesterday “who makes the decision to where the EIRC take place”

I must admit, it would be nice to visit a sunny warm state for some erg racing, Las Vegas sound good.
Could always return to Boston on the 5th and 10th year cycles.

Sir Pirate

The Crash B's, due to the name, should stay in Boston each year, but the World Indoor Rowing Championships should move around different states each year I think, to make it a more interesting trip.

I'd like to see them in:
Seattle, Orlando, New York, Washington DC, LA or SF, ....

Just voted.

I decided on the World Championships being shared around countries of the World (like a true World Championship). It always seems a little odd for World Championships to be held in the same country every year (e.g. snooker, darts, baseball).

Despite my personal preference for it to be hosted in different American states ('cause I love going to America), I think it should be shared amongst the principal countries of the sport (a bit like cricket; no point Brazil hosting the Cricket World Series!).
I agree with with Pete, the Crash Bs are the Crash Bs, founded in Boston and should remain there, the question should really be should the World Championships and the Crash Bs remain the same competition and if not should the World Championships be held all over the world.

I vote yes to remain the same but if not they should move around the participating countries.

Why anyone should want to go to Vegas is beyond me Blackpool in the desert!

It would be a great place to have a Erg Comp.

Sir Pirate

Not so good for a Lwt though with the All-You-Can-Eat restaurants!

No I haven't, but I've seen enough on telly and read enough about it to know that its not my kind of place at all!

Yes, I was married in Las Vegas, still on the 1st wife Pete.

I have been to Las Vegas 5 times now. Nothing tacky about the place at all. Out of all the places I have been to, Vegas is my number 1

Could have a Erg comp in Death Valley, if I recall correctly, there a place which is the lowest point in the U.S.A (below sea level)

Sir Pirate

They should de-couple the WIRC from the CRASH-Bs.

Have the CRASH-Bs as the United States Indoor Rowing Champs and have a seperate World Indoor Rowing Champs that could move round the States or even move round the World.

Until EIRC attracts a larger crowd....I vote to keep it in Boston....for the origins of the event, the organizing committee, the great city....Plus, (a little selfish, here) I enjoy being in cold weather a few days of the year. (I get to wear a hat and gloves!)

Joan
