Concept 2 defect?
Concept 2 defect?
Just assembled my Concept 2 Model D and it seems slant inwards... Could i have a defective rower? You can really tell against the brick behind it. Plus the seat rolls to the foot pads.

I think you've got the front legs on backwards.
The rail is supposed to slope slightly to front stops.

Re: Concept 2 defect?
It is correct, the rower does slant towards the cage, the seat doe roll toward the front stops. It is not supposed to be level

That's amusing.. that picture, as of this morning, was normal. Not sure when the "flip" happened but it gave me a good laugh

Re: Concept 2 defect?
The reason for the slight slant is that it is standard in the boats and the erg was designed to try to imitate the feel of rowing a boat as well as it could.
In a boat, the slant provides the advantage of the seat always being at the stern end of the slides. That way a rower, on getting into the boat knows where the seat is. I have had the experience of getting into an old wherry that had a sticky slide. I didn't realize that the seat was too far forward and had an unpleasant surprise when I ended up sitting on the bare slides.
