Hi all,

I am considering purchasing RowPro, mainly for the online races/competition. It looks like there are only three races for Sunday, January 23rd. Is this typical? I'm wondering how many people really participate in the online races?

I realize that not everyone would be racing everday, but I thought I'd see more than three or four races a day. Any opinions on whether or not RowPro is worth the cash just for the online action would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think you will love online racing. Over the fall, around 30-40 of us participated in a series of races over 10 weeks over the fall, doing each distance twice. This was multiple heats at various times on Sat and Sun and occasionally Friday. The first of the 1ks races I was in had 8 boats on screen all bunched within 2-5 secs and was very exciting. We did something similar over the summer. Since then I have been taking a break from online racing to train for the crash-bs, and maybe others are doing that as well. Weekend races get a lot more interest, and there is some regular stuff during the day, but not at times that I row.

Traffic goes up and down, and this may be down period of a month or so. But the more that join the more races there are to pick from. In addition to seeing less races right now, we are seeing a lot less "training" rows too. It is fun just to row online with people for training. It is better if they are generally the same speed, but I like rowing with others of any speed, it does provide "company" and an added interest (and motivation).

Try it and then buy it.

If you can't find anyone on-line, either race a downloaded file from your worst enemy, or race a previous row. You will probably find out that you are your own worst enemy.

There is always someone to race if you include downloads.

Cheers,

Paul Flack
