OK - I'm an idiot and haven't been able to find the "translate time zone" button in RowPro. Is 13:00 GMT equal to 06:00 US pacific time? Is that the time of this race? If so, is it possible for someone not registered in the series to join this race?

My season best (to read: ONLY) 10k for 2005-6 is 41:33.5. And no, I'm not sandbagging - nearly needed resuscitation after that row!

So... do you allow interlopers to join your race?

Regards,
Mark

One way to avoid the need to convert is to use Cees van Dok's e-Row/RowPro race scheduler which conveniently displays the time in your local time zone. There is no "translate time zone" button in RowPro, although I think more than one request for somethng like that has been made.

As far as I can see, interlopers are welcome on a space-available basis. You probably shouldn't actually join the race until just before the race is scheduled to start to make sure you aren't preventing a series member from doing so. I don't think there is any reason why you couldn't join the series at this point; if I understand correctly, the scoring system will allow each person to miss 2 races over the course of the series without penalty, so you'll have just used up your "freebies". The bonus points you'll receive for almost certainly bettering your "season best" times as the series goes along won't hurt, either! So put that automated external defibrillator and portable oxygen tank near the rower and join the fun

Bill

You'll need to do that soon so you can get your start time.

Send me your current 2005 calendar year SBs/PBs. I'll post them to the web and then you'll be ready to roll.

You can send them to me from here

Jeff

Discovered today that I used my 2004 SB not my 2005 SB so here is the start order with that correction:

Ronald Clowson 48:47.0 Starts at ROW
Leif Heide 41:41.6 waits 7:05
Jeffrey Fisher 38:28.4 waits 10:19
Frank Knight 38:27.7 waits 10:19
Hennie Martini 36:50.0 waits 11:57

Frank

Jeff, I just sent you my season best times (pretty sorry times they are, compared to last year), and signed up for the 1300GMT (6am my time UGH) race. Hope I'm not too late - was the 8th person to join. See you all in the morning!

Dean, Mark and Richard,

Please either respond to my email or post your 10K SB here so I can calculate the start delays and repost the new list with all 8 rowers. Don't be shy about posting them here because your SB will be posted when I put up the start delays anyway.

I'm not sure if any of you have done a handicap race using RP. Remember that only the slowest rower starts at the ROW signal. RP makes it look like everyone is rowing but you will notice that they all have zeros for distance except the turtle. Just wait for your start delay to expire and then row.

Frank
