Hi Maryilyn,

It's late here...but I just had a random idea. I suspect you have already considered it, and discarded it......but I throw it out there anyway.

Instead of trying to equalize teams by pairing rowers from different categories (or by adding 10 sec penalties)...couldn't both rowers just submit their best 2k time and then (have Mark) figure out a handicap "wait time" for the first rower...

The benefit I see is:

1. Eliminate your effort to team rowers together. This way any 2 rowers could be a team.
2. Might make it a closer race.
3. Might get more folks involved.

There are probably drawbacks, but I will leave it to smarter folks than me to identify them.

Thanks for setting this up.

Best, Ernie

Hi Ernie!

I think the main problem is to find a partner, and this is the Christmas idea,
that we make efforts to find a partner, not that you row as individual

In the relay, you need anyway that you see the partner over the finishlane
and then you start to row, I don't know how your idea can solve this problem
the cumulative time will be the result time (+- 14minutes)

I think, if you want to row and it is difficult to find one, register yourself
and let me now in the Winnertext, what is your start time preference

For Rowpro Rowers, we will find a solution with the view option issue. If we found
solutions for all the e-row's bugs, rowpro should be not a obstacle for us

In another words, if you want to participate and you are not flexible with
the start time, register on supercanoa and I coordinate the rest

Marilyn
Marilyn,

I also cannot row the 19th as I will be making the long trip to the USA on that day (3 hours south to Sao Paulo then 9+ hours north). But I could row on the 18th till about 17:30 GMT. I can row on the 11th (till 17:30 GMT) or 12th (any time).

But do what is best for all.

andy

Hi,

Ok, we let it at 11Dec

And one extra race at 12Dec for Tom

Please register soon, as individual or as team, so I can have enough time to organize you all. In case of rowpro rowers, write a notice.

If somebody will be rowing with Rowpro, write a note
with your registration, the same with extra wishes

Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,

I just lost my Partner Mark...

I PB-ed on the 2K (7:16.2) , so now I am a class D rower. I need to match with another D-rower.
Since I cannot participate on Dec 11th after 15:00 GMT and are partnerless, I think you should not bother finding me a partner AND create a single event just for me on Sunday. Unless you have a Class D rower that cannot row Saturday either.

Tom

I'm still looking for a Class C (6:40 to 6:59) partner for the Christmas Relay this Saturday at 17:30 GMT. Any takers?

Hi Andy - I'll partner with you!

Tom just jumped off the front of Class E into Class D (congrats on the new PB!), and our schedules didn't quite sync up anyway, so I'm in the market for a new Class E partner. Your time of 7:27 puts you right into the front of Class E!

So how about it - whaddya say, Andy?

Hi Everibody

I was not visiting the forum in the last days because...DougB is in Munich! with his wife too and we were going out discovering the city. Supercanoa Rowing Club makes it possible

I will analize the data tonight (Munich Tonight) and to post the groups, I will accept
in the most of cases all the combinations, and with handicaps in case that
you are not agree

Check in directly the race or create a second one with your names in case
that you have ready a group

Marilyn

If someone is looking for a "B" partner, I can participate. Notice that I didn't say "race". I am getting over a cold and I have a marathon scheduled on Sunday, so I don't have a prayer of rowing a time anywhere near my on-line best of 6:24. But, I should be able to deliver a time between 6:35 and 6:40.

I am doing this to fill out the ranks. Races are no fun if the lanes aren't full! Besides, the only way to watch an e-row race is to be in an e-row race!

Cheers,

Paul Flack

Same here, an available B rower looking for a partner. I can only row the second race (17:30 GMT). Paul, we can team up and take the handicap hit if you're up for it?

Cees

Hi, Paul same here since my back injury and my very busy travelling in the last 3 monts I lost quite a few second to my best 2K. I hope to be able to to it with a time of 7:40 wich this qualifies me for a "B" partner if you are still interested I will partner with you tomorrow.

I think we need a revange from last year anyway, remember
