Heart rate monitor for PM2

Post by Anja » May 28th, 2009, 3:46 pm

Is the coded Polar WearLink+ transmitter (http://www.polar.fi/en/products/accesso ... ransmitter) compatible
with the PM2 heart rate interface, or does it only work with uncoded transmitters?

Which HRM do you use with your PM2?

Yes.

The PM2 (or PM3 or PM4) with a Polar receiver doesn't know about coded, but does get a signal. The problem comes if you have two rowers in close proximity with both using Polar compatible belts. The addition of two heart rate signals produces some interesting results.

Equipment that understands coded uses the Polar code to discriminate one signal from another to avoid the cross-talk problem.
