Well, with the riding weather getting better, I can understand how it is hard to rack up meters. I went for a couple of rides this weekend & did not want to come home for work out time.

Hi everyone, another week til the half way point. Looks like everyone is doing a great job piling on the meters. This is a great little tune up for the Global Marathon Challenge http://www.concept2.com/us/motivation/c ... llenge.asp in April. Let's see if we can pull back into the top 20, I know we can do it!

Hello, Motos!

Just wanted to check in and say sorry for being such an absentee captain over the past week or so. I was downsized from my much-loved job of 12 years on March 9, and I guess it was a little naive of me to think I could hammer out a 300K challenge at the same time as I built my freelance persona, including a new website, from the ground up.

But enough with the excuses. The site goes live tomorrow, so starting then, I'm back in the game. There's no way I can pull off 300K between now and the end of the challenge, but I will commit to 10K/day from tomorrow through the end.

THANKS to everyone who's been racking up the meters. I'll send around a join-the-challenge plea to team members tomorrow in the hope of pulling in a few more before the new April 1 deadline.

Cheers,
Duca

WRC

Post by Crazy John » March 30th, 2009, 10:51 pm

OK "Team Moto" I'm in!! I' m not going to be CRAZY as I was in January. I was on a mission then. I had a fellow rower in GBR that I was playing with. He thought he had me figured out but missed. I had to do some extreme stuff the last 2 days. I wanted to place in the top 5!! I originally wanted to just do a million meters. That at the time seemed impossible. On 1/30/09 I did 21610, 29528, 10502 meters. On 1/31/09 I thought I had it tied up but something told me to go for it. I did 30068 and 50000 meters. Ghram Luckhurst finished 5th!! The day after I was pretty well done in. Bottom line it is mind over matter. I'm in the WRC for the fun of it. I have a few personal best to improve upon between now and the end of April and I can't do that doing big meters. I, and my son, will try to invigorate the team and get us a better finish. Let's see what we can do. Like Ann says "No Pain, No Podium!! Believe me I know what that is. The Pain part!!
Keep up the great work and let's get busy!!

Welcome back, John..and your son! 80K+ in one day, wow!

I figured you wouldn't be rowing cuz the weather is getting nice about now in IL and figured you'd be out on the HD.

That's my boy!!! " BIG EVIL" He is going to take over in the January Challenge and I'm going to be a slacker. Come on Kevin, Davis, Ann and everbody else. Let's see what we can do! 13 days left!! I'm not going to run off and leave the pack this time. Pretend I'm the carrot or rabbit!! I will be taking off tomorrow. I have to find a job!! Ann I hope things are going well with you. Haven't heard much out of you.
Later, CJ

OK Team Moto, I just posted my last meters for the WRC. I reached my goal and I'm taking the rest of the day off. Time to relax and get some spring work done. I need to work on a couple of rankings the rest of the month but I'm not going to get real excited. I have to go!! I can hear the HARLEY calling my name. I think it is jealous of the ERG because I have been spending more time riding it. Until we team up again, Crazy John

HELLO MOTOS!

A big THANKS to everyone who pulled (and is still pulling... it ain't over yet!) for the WRC.

I really appreciate you picking up the slack for my job-hunting self. By the next challenge, whenever that may be, I plan to be a gainfully employed and much more active captain.

Cheers,
Duca

Everyone did a great job on the WRC! Sorry I didn't get more meters in. I was shooting for 400K, but forgot I had a webinar on the last day. It was great rowing with everyone. Have a great summer, gang! GO TEAM MOTO!

Hey Motos,

I'm about to row my first HC meters. I'm planning on 200K for the HC, 300K for the JTC. BUT... I'm a few months in at a rockin' new job, and don't have the bandwidth to helm a team.

If Team MOTO's to be a part of upcoming team challenges, somebody else will have to grab the reins. Grips. Handle. Whatever.

I'm pretty sure C2 can make it so without me... I'll email them so they know I'm stepping down.

Happy HC, and hope to see Team MOTO on the board in 2010!

Cheers
Duca

Any former or new Team Moto members out there planning on doing the JVC?

Hi Michelle!

The leadership swap is complete. I sent a couple responses to your PM, but they've not gone through yet... they're just sitting in my C2 outbox. Any chance you've changed your email addy since the last team challenge?

If so, then you've missed my email explaining that you'll need to sign Team MOTO up for the challenge (I did so before C2 transferred ownership to you, but the transfer must've undone that).

Best of luck, and thanks for taking the helm. :D

Yes, it's true: Team Moto is signed up for the JVC. So far I only see three of us ready to go though. Come on people. Let's see what we can do this year. Every little bit helps!
