Still lurking...

Steve, awesome time! But don't worry, if you're clients are getting fitter at least it's good advertising.

Mike, sorry to hear you're injured. Hope you're better soon!

As for me, it's been all about the on-the-water rowing lately. I just got back from the Pacific Northwest Masters in Vancouver, WA and I'm pretty happy with my results. I made huge improvements over last year.

And I got my motorcycle learner's license so this dirt girl is going to try the pavement! :D

Thanks. I'm back to riding again. As usual, I'm not 100%, but I can ride. I've got a vintage MX race the following weekend and then off to CO for 7 days of 10,000 ft plus riding. :D

I wish we had OTW rowing club around here. I'd like to give it a try. I checked and the closest to here is two hours away. Just not willing to make that kind of travel commitment.

You're going to breeze through your riding test, with your dirt bike background. And you can even ride your dirtbike on the street.....

Photos of me from a couple of weeks ago, on the the Dragon.

Well I can't ride MY dirtbike on the street, but I can get a dualsport. I borrowed one this weekend and got my first experience riding on the pavement. Wow, it's so smooth and there are no jumps! I have to stop putting my inside leg out on the corners though

Jumps are called curbs on the street. Oh and I was just about ready to fall over, so I put my foot down. :)

Hope all is well w/ all. Take care.

Edit: Here's a link to a thread on thumpertalk that I've been posting HRM data in from moto, NOT ROWING, but it's interesting regardless. My avatar is the UL label:

Just got back from a week riding the CO single track. Here's a pic of me. The Concept 2 has made me so fast, the camera can hardly capture it.

Here's a link to the rest of the photos. Lots of good scenery.

Yep, too busy for erging in the summer. I have rowed over 1.2million metres on the water since May though. And I still have plenty more to do before Head of the Charles so no Fall Challenge for me. My erg is in a corner in two pieces because my niece just moved into the spare (erg) room. I'll have to find a new place for my indoor pain before the weather turns.
As for Greg's stardom... I haven't seen it yet. RacerX is the only mag I subscribe to. But I'll make a point of finding a Dirt Rider to check this out!

10,000 meters in the last two days. That's about 10,000 more meters than the last six months combined. B)

Nice Mike! Good work.
I swear I'll get back on in November. But until then, if you want a challenge, I dare you to row as much on the erg as I'm rowing on the lake. I'm pretty much averaging 13km/day, 6days/week. But that will be dropping a bit as I pick up intensity closer to my Oct.18 race. I'm so stoked. I've never been to Boston before.

I'd like to take the challenge, but I've discovered another injury that is preventing me from rowing. Something going on in my left forearm and the rowing really aggravated it. Some kind of tendon or ligament thing. I haven't been to the doctor yet. But it burns something fierce after a rowing workout. Thank goodness it doesn't aggravate it to ride.

It's hell to get old...

Rode the last enduro of the season today. 70 miles and it was a good run.

I guess it's time to dust of the rower now. And all of my nagging little injuries seem to be healing.

Yes, it's that time of year... the sad month between riding and skiing. I actually came to the forum this morning in an attempt to find some motivation to get back on the erg. I've known this was coming for a month, but I've had a hard time accepting it. I have to flip the switch and get back into it. Holiday challenge is coming up. 200km between Thanksgiving (just another Thursday for me) and Christmas... anyone else up for it?

I'm off for awhile. This is still bothering me. Hopefully I will be able to start XC skiing in a few weeks and that is going to take place of the rower.

We are still riding here anyway, but it's cold. Headed for MO over Thanksgving weekend for two days of riding. :)

Wow, I haven't posted to this thread since the end of March. Not surprising, I guess, since until last Saturday I hadn't logged a single meter this season. :(

But I'm back in the saddle for the HC, and I'm hoping Team MOTO will fire up again for the JVC. I'm guessing I'm still listed as captain... but that was just an emergency measure to pull a team together for the NARC since Greg wasn't able to do it. If anyone's interested in leading the team, I'll happily surrender my title.
