Erg Hours??

Post by Tyn » July 27th, 2006, 6:14 am

Possibly a second part to find out the answerers 2000m time achieved at the time of the answer.
Okay Let's start with the first part:

How many hours a week do you train?

the second part will not fit into one poll,so you have to put it in a reply if you want!

Happy polling!

Thanks Tyn,

Interested in everyones total hrs of training, including lifting, running or swimming etc, not recreational activities but specific training aimed at improving your rowing performance.
I've had to cut back to only 45 min (75-90 min previously) of off water training per day due to other commitments and have noticed a 5-6 sec increase in my 500 rate over 2000!!

This year, 3 to 4 hours. Focus on more intense workouts in less time with the help of Eddie Fletcher. 7:19.0 was PB from last year, so this would be my start of season fitness. We'll see what the 2007 season brings. Hoping that quality, focus, and customization (thanks Eddie!) will trump pure quantity.

Last season, 5 to 6 hours each week on average, with several 7 to 8 hour weeks sprinkled in, but many "junk" meters. Started season as a newbie at 8:36 for first 2K, down to 7:19.0 by season's end, LW.

If I can do it, you can do it. I am no athlete. Just sit down and row!

In the days I rowed my pb 's I rowed 15/20k per week, no more and during the spring/summer no rowing at all. But I did quit a lot of weights. That was my main focus.

At the moment. I train 5/6 times a week around 50/65k on average.
3 days only erging
3 days weights and erging.

On average I erg 8k per trainingsday.

Erg time

Post by HardGainer » July 29th, 2006, 6:51 am

Only interested in short distances. Really enjoy sprints under 1000m. Spend much more time weight training and I'm a sometime cyclist. So I guess I'm kind of here under false pretences

2hrs max. erging per week: Sprints, Tabata and 20-min HIIT sessions.
