I think I should just set everybody a time for the end of the month and you can smash them on day one, that'll get us some boats well up the rankings.

I think I bring out the best in people (though you might say I'm crap at estimating people's times) :D

MrsT great row - I now have absolute confidence that you'll be in the 42:xx by the end of the month. And I already have my reply written when your next row comes in at 42:30.1

Great work
Brendin

500 2:05.3 21 spm 2:00r
250 1:01.4 19 spm 2:00r
I now have the pm3 correctly set up to include the last 750

Second test, today 4/02/06

1000 4:49.4 2:24.6/500m 19spm
750 3:19.7 2:13.1 19

I like this test. This is powerful.

Good job on the Rugby Test Hal...I'm glad someone likes doing that one!

Nice 10K Brendin! Hiya Godfried, how did the 10K feel?

I will do one soon--weird thing, this morning got up and had a pulled ham string. I have no idea why. It's just really tight. I imagine it will loosen up enough to at least row tomorrow and maybe I can do a decent 10K Tuesday.

I am sorry.

Your glory is over. I have taken your seat in boat I.
Oh well I wasn't expecting to stay there for long :( at least I'm not last on the leaderboard now! :D

Thanks for the encouragement, I do however think that your new target you set me is in the realms of fantasy!
Well done on your 2nd attempt. I am still recovering from my first!

Carla,
Thanks also for encouraging sadly we have a prehistoric pm2 and am unable to do what you suggested. I expect that a pm3 is probably on its way for my 40th. I will have to spend the row working out in my head how fast I need to go. I did keep a steady average pace of 2.11.3 and then sped up at the end. As it is the school holidays I will probably have more time to attempt the distance several more times. Hope the leg feels better, Phil is doing his physio religiously, I think he is hoping that he will be able to put in an attempt towards the end of the month.

Having just got the PM3 for Christmas, I can relate. Did you bother to write down your splits last time? If so, get a big piece of paper or something and write your splits on it and put it where you can see it when you do your next attempt (make sure it's secured so it won't blow away or anything). It's not as visual as ReRow, but you'll see what average you are aiming for as you go along and that's a bit easier than just trying to hit the target by the end. It will also stop you from trying to hold to fast a pace at the beginning.

Keep it up!!!

Well done Helen.....BTW where is Mr T's time. I suspect he probably hasn't recovered from all that beer he was drinking in London last week (oops sorry Phil)

Brendin, I will return the favour and get back at you tomorrow. :P

10k was hard. Previous row was the March-CTC ( 26th ). Before that last was a 1k Feb 13.

Started too fast, around 2'02. Finished around 2'10 with last minute 2'06.

Next time I will try to start slower.

I did a 10K on the model C today (and I couldn't be bothered with writing down the splits either).

Got a new PB 37:56.9 1:53.8 26SPM.

Well chuffed with that, I'm on target for 37:30 before the end of the month. I'm going to look at improving my 5K time tomorrow.

Lets not forget I am still injured and in Rehab :)
Of course I will submit a time as soon as you have done yours. Are you still a lightweight :?:

If I recall it was you drinking the beers last week.

Had another go, just now.

Was: 59 Daren m Taff Attack II 43:32.4 2:10.6 157.1
Now: 58 Daren m Taff Attack II 42:56.5 2:08.8 163.7

So, not much change in places, but more than 30 seconds knocked off which I'm happy with. It wasn't a "hard as I can" effort, so there should be more to come. I just need to get the mental part sorted out. I'll try for sub-2:08 and a 42:40 at least, then move the goalposts when I've made it.

It is actually a little faster than my ranked 10k from December 19th (43:05.1), which is encouraging after 6 weeks off. Was 775/1046 (74%) of the heavyweights. Now 97/157 (62%) of the lightweights.
