Hi, I'm dublinseacow and have been lurking for a while. I started rowing at the gym after I injured my ankle. Rowing appealed to my triathlete side much more than the hand cycle machine. Rowing has helped me get a cardio workout using 3 limbs, not the usual four. My family decided to purchase a model D so I could row at home and exercise the dog on a treadmill. She and I both need to lose some winter weight

. The erg shows up today and I am so excited

Work up on my injured ankle reveals I have a high ankle sprain and a nerve stretch injury. It looks like it'll be some time before I will be able to do triathlons

. Thank goodness no surgery is needed. I'll be doing PT to restore the ankle to fighting fit shape. I've been taking the rowing pretty easy as I'm pushing off with 1 leg and using my arms and I go for about half an hour at a time. I usually do a 5k in that time. I learned about this forum after doing a google search for one legged rowing and saw that others have walked this path before me. I'm so excited to join such a fantastic group of people.
