Forearm and lower leg fatigue and tightness
Back in March, I was suffering from what I believe was exertional compartment syndrome, where my forearms would swell up and burn after a hard, all out sprint piece or interval on the erg (such as a 2k, 6x500m or 4x1.5k). They would feel very hard to the touch and would hurt for 25 minutes before fading. Since then I have laid off the erg. However, now that I have started up again, my forearms have been fine for steady state (with slight, not painful) tightness, but feel fatigued, tired and weak the next morning when I wake up (as though I have half the grip strength as usual). I got a forearm compartment test, which came back inconclusive. Now, I have been feeling similar symptoms in my lower legs (below the knee). During a hard leg/cardio workout, such as running stairs, my legs feel tight but are not in pain, however, the next morning they feel tight, fatigued and weak. I understand compartment syndrome is very rare, and given that I haven't been training excessively, I find it hard to believe I have developed compartment syndrome in both my forearms and legs. What could this be?

Re: Forearm and lower leg fatigue and tightness
Sounds like LActic Acid build up to me, try taking creatine pyruvate, this will help you with explosive training and also take bicarb of soda an hour before training as this can buffer lactic acid, if symptoms persist try taking Branch Chain Amino Acids before and after training as the leucine in them will help reduce muscle soreness and help repair muscles, if this doesn't work then maybe use a protein and carb mix after training.redwoodrower77 wrote:Back in March, I was suffering from what I believe was exertional compartment syndrome, where my forearms would swell up and burn after a hard, all out sprint piece or interval on the erg (such as a 2k, 6x500m or 4x1.5k).
