Weight Loss/ Weight Control

this may sound really stupid but I have no idea what erg means, I've seen it everywhere and I still haven't figured it out and I'm afraid it stands for something really easy. But I'm going to use the newcomer excuse...so, educate me!

An "ergometer" is a device or instrument for measuring the amount of energy used or work done. The C2 is a rowing ergometer, familiarly know as an "erg" on this board and on some others as an "ergo."

Not a silly question at all.

HTH

Alissa

Originally Concept 2 used the name "rowing ergometer" for their earlier machines. Later the name was changed to indoor rower. It might be because the slang word "erg" sounds too much like the noise made by an OTW (i.e. On The Water) rower when the coach announces a session of indoor rowing. From its initial use as a shorthand for the noun, ergometer, it has also evolved to being used as a verb. To erg is to work out on an indoor rowing device.

regards,

Bob S.
