Hi,
Should my Suunto T6 chestbelt work with the concept2 HR-receiver ?
Right now when I connect my receiver and put on the chestbelt I get nothing - is the connection of a HR-reciever supposed to show on my PM2 ?

Thanks in advance
AndreasB

Yes, it is. see first picture

I don't think the Suunto T6 chest belts output the right kind of signal. The C2 web site says that the HR receiver requires a Polar-compatible belt.

If I read your question quite literally... Then my answer would be that the PM2 screen doesn't indicate the connection of the heart rate receiver, but it should (as shown above) indicate the reception of a Polar-compatible heart rate signal.

Mike

Yes, I was affraid that would be the answer - as far as I can gather the T6 Chestbelt is transmitting on another frequency than the polar chestbelts. What I don't understand then is why C2 is selling the T6 watch and C2 HR-reciever as a package deal from their UK-website.

My question is ment to be taken literally - does the mere connection of a HR-reciever show on the PM2 (a little heart, a tiny bouble, a couple of -- or whatever).

Thanks for your answers.

Now for a new question - will the cardiosport chestbelt work with the PM2? (are they "polar compatible") - I can get a used CS watch with chestbelt for 15$ and as far as I know the polar belt alone is about 70$.

AndreasB

Some belts work and some don't.I have 3 belt, polar, timex, and the other without a name. The timex doesn't transmit on the right frequency.

Get a Polar.

QUOTE(AndreasB @ Jan 13 2006, 04:39 PM)

Hi,
Should my Suunto T6 chestbelt work with the concept2 HR-receiver ?
Right now when I connect my receiver and put on the chestbelt I get nothing - is the connection of a HR-reciever supposed to show on my PM2 ?

Thanks in advance
AndreasB

I believe that Suunto makes a polar compatible and a non-polar compatible belt (please check with them). The T6 from Suunto is not currently compatible with Concept2's PM1, 2, or 3 monitors.

-- Scott
My Oregon Scientific belt works OK and they are cheap. My Vetta (cycle monitor) belt also works fine.
