copy/move workouts from PM4 log card to PM5 USB?
I just got my PM5 to upgrade my PM4 and can’t figure out how to move my workouts from my log card to the USB. I tried backing up the card but the Concept2 Utility doesn’t know how to restore from a log card backup to USB. I use the monthly summary view on the PM as my row season progresses and would like to continue that with the PM5 without losing any data…

My understanding is that transfer from monitor memory to external media is a one way process (from PMx to log card, USB stick or iOS or Android device, either by cable or wirelessly). But data transfer from a logcard onto a USB stick, or vice versa, is not supported. So, I don't think you can do what you want to do directly.
With that said, there is a workaround in that if you upload everything to your online logbook, you can then export everything (i.e., download a single text or CSV file) into Excel (or similar) and do the maths there.
Alternatively, you can have the C2 utillity read the logcard and do a CSV export to Excel (or similar), then have the C2 utility read the USB stick and export to Excel (or similar) and then combine the data from the two files into one, and again do the maths.
Maybe someone here knows a clever way to transfer data between the old style logcards and USB sticks, but I think you will have to use a workaround if you want to get the data from the two media combined for analysis. I don't think you will be able to get the analysis you want from the PM, I think that you'll have to read it from a PC spreadsheet.

It's not possible because Concept2 Inc. do not publish the format of their data (I've asked). I've reverse engineered the date/time for workouts on LogCards (because my gym can't seem to get the clocks on their PM3 set right when they change the batteries or when daylight saving starts or ends), but most of the data format is proprietary and secret.Hollywood_Kuma wrote:Maybe someone here knows a clever way to transfer data between the old style logcards and USB sticks, but I think you will have to use a workaround if you want to get the data from the two media combined for analysis. I think they keep it a one way process so people cannot cheat for ranked workouts. If you could add a workout the erg would show a verification code and the workout could be published and ranked.
