Hardware Question

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Hardware Question

Post by MarkW » May 1st, 2007, 11:35 am

Hello All

I've been erging regularly for five years now and have logged nearly 11 million meters on C2s.

Two years ago my brother and I took a wknd of sculling lessons and I have wanted to purchase a boat to row at our river house. The Allegheny is wide with little current there.

We have a number of canoes and I came across an add for the Row-Wing Scout made by Piantedosi Oars that is a sliding seat rowing mechanism to be used with a canoe.

Is anyone familiar with this system? Will it provide quality recreational rowing? Input would very much be appreciated.

Thanx

MarkW

I don't know the specific product, but it will not feel like a racing shell or even a decent training shell. A Canoe is wide and stable and will be much slower. That said, it will still be a lot of fun.
