New LogCard Utility ver 4.04

Post by c2scott » August 11th, 2006, 4:16 pm

Next week, Concept2 will post on our web site a new version of the LogCard Utility. This version has several new features:

1) Check concept2.com web site to notify you of updates to the PM3, PM4, or LogCard utility.

2) Can update a PM3 or PM4's firmware (Mac users: yes, this feature will work for you too, but unfortunately for PM3 users you must update to Ver 97 on a PC first... sorry this is a Mac OS X Operating System limitation that we've fixed in V97 firmware. PM4 users: works fine for all units).

I'm looking for a few beta testers. If you are interested in taking an advanced look at it, you can get it here:
ftp.concept2.com/public/PM3transferUtilitySetup.exe

I should note that due to some issues encountered with new features and new graphical librarys we've started using, we've had to discontinue support for Mac OS 10.2.x. We may be able to figure out how to support it in the future if there are a lot of distressed 10.2 users out there (please email me!) but for now this version will not work on 10.2.

I'll be first.

Had to change your URL to
ftp://ftp.concept2.com/public/PM3transf ... ySetup.exe

Since I don't have an erg (nearest one I use is 5Km away) I have an Omnikey reader.

With the PM3 (the ones in the gym have V97 firmware) there are a whole bunch of things I can get from the logcard. I can also edit users, add new users etc.

With the Omnikey reader and the LogCard utility I can only erase workouts, delete users or move user/data to another card.

Can you add the stuff that I can do with the PM3 to the LogCard util?

1. Summary
2. Edit user (name / total metres)
3. Monthly summary (yes I know I can do that in Excel or OOCalc)
4. Find workout by type (yes I know I can do that on the online logging system)
5. Generate a PM3 workout validation code

I like the idea of checking for PM3/PM4 firmware and LogCard util updates automagically. Nice.

The next neat feechur would be to be able to automagically enter workouts into the online logging system (http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/log.asp) without having to manually re-type (or cut'n'paste) the data on your online system.

Sorry about the URL thing..I thought it would work that way... and at minimum the techie types that I want to look at it would figure it out... but sorry again.

Upload to the online logbook is pretty much next on the list, but we've got a few other projects to complete: European racing is fast approaching and we've got to work on making the PM4's race, and some other things... The rest of your list deserves consideration. I'll add it to the list of requests.

No probs, this techie worked it out. I've also posted a link to this item over on the UK Forum.

Just the job. Thanks. I'll say "Hi" again if I see you at BIRC.

I'm heading for a Rowing BBQ this afternoon, I'll take the laptop with the LogCard util installed (a hub and a couple of USB cables) - if I can carry the weight. If I do, we can try automagic upgrade (on all the ergs that folks will have there) and we can give the (current version) venue racing software a go.
