Concept2 Utility cannot connect to server

Post by ccooper » September 9th, 2014, 9:20 pm

Fresh download of Concept2 Utility, on BOTH Mac and Windows. Both report the same thing...cannot connect to the Concept2 server. I know there is no problem with my Internet connection. Any suggestions?

1. Check you can reach log.concept2.com. Open a command window and use ping log.concept2.com also point your browser at http://log.concept2.com
2. Check your settings include the right concept2 log id from "Ranking ID #" at http://log.concept2.com/log_profile.asp
3. Check you've entered the same password as you've used for http://log.concept2.com

I also moved over the the new version of the utility (v6.55). I'm running Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit versions) on an old desktop and a new laptop. I haven't had any issues.

As Citroen says, try going to the command prompt and trying ping log.concept2.com. If you don't get a response, you have an Internet connection problem (which could also be a problem with your firewall dropping outgoing packets before they are sent, or dropping incoming packets when they are received).

But I think this is unlikely.

More likely is that this is a password and/or ranking id problem. But you should check the ping first, just to rule basic connectivity out as the problem.

It's highly unlikely to be a problem with the utility itself if you are having the same problem on both a Windows machine and a Mac. More likely it's a credentials problem, as Citroen suggests as 2 & 3 above.

Hopefully that will get you back online and ranking.
