Hey, I did a 2k test for my school's crew 2 weeks ago. I pulled 1:58.4 at a 30/31 rate.

We have another test Monday or Tuesday and I haven't erged much besides some painful 'extras' after practice once a week.

I think that I can pull 1:56s... But I don't know if this type of improvement is realistic, even if i bump up my rate. We've been doing verryyy hard work on the water and so I'm hoping this transfers to the erg. What do you more experienced guys think?

Haha. I know no one posted in here but i just wanted to post this for myself.

Had our 2nd 2k test today
7:46 = 1:56.something
Wow, that was the most painful thing I've ever done in my life. I thought it was bad two weeks ago, but this was just terrible.

I'm very happy with it because i've had less than 2 weeks to improve. Next month, I hope to get in the 7:30's, preferably 1:53s.

Hmmm, Good for you. You did something you didn't think you could. I know its very old school but you are investing in your sport, building character and belief in yourself. None, I repeat, none of that every comes easy. congrats and welcome to the game. dennis

I have a little different approach...

Work hard and believe it comes easy.
