Repair services for PM3

Post by critter » April 21st, 2025, 10:31 pm

Hi Carl,

I have a PM3 which needs repairs, it is not turning on. Power checked ok etc.
Is it possible to send my PM3 to you for repairs?
I am located in West Australia.

I've seen similar issues with PM3 units before, where the device won’t power on despite the power supply testing fine. It could be something on the internal board, like a failed regulator or component.

Sending it in for repairs sounds like a solid idea. There are a few folks on here who do repairs or can point you in the right direction. Since you're in WA, you might want to check if there’s a local option first to avoid international shipping delays.

Hi,

I have to be honest, if its a Gen 1 PM3 which will have a serial number on the back starting with a 1, 2 or a 3 its no longer worth repairing from Australia. Freight costs have killed it.

I still repair things like rusted out battery terminals and put new screens in them but some of the PM3's are now 20 years old and usually have corrosion in them by now from pure environmental conditions. I still fully refurbish the odd one with a perfect looking clean board.

Get yourself a brand new PM5, its onto like the 6th Gen now so its a great time to switch.
