Looking for good training plans for multiple ergs

Post by kenneth » February 19th, 2024, 10:25 am

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a rower for many years and been using RowPro’s training plans. During the pandemic I decided to also get the skierg and the bike and now I find that although I use them nearly every day, my usage is not planned and more or less depends on my mood and motivation. I’ve been doing some searching for an app that could generate training plans the same way RowPro does, but for all three ergs but most of the apps I’ve found are geared towards just one of the ergs. Have anyone come across anything useful?

Take a look at the "What training have you done today" thread, Sakly makes good use of incorporating the Skierg in to his training.

What are your goals? That will determine the necessity and specifics for a plan, if general exercise and wellbeing is the purpose as opposed to anything performance related, keep doing what you're doing if you enjoy it :)

If I had access to all three, I'd most likely form some form of circuit or alternate a warm up, main, and cool down component.

Thanks for the tip, Alex. I’ll check out that thread. What I like about the training plans on RowPro is that they guide me efficiently and let me work towards any goals. It’s sort of like a digital PT and for me it’s very motivational. I guess I’m the kind of person who need someone to kick me in the butt.

Currently I often opt to just take the bike for a spin if I’m tired, while watching a movie and then when I have more energy I usually do three minute stints on each of the ergs and then do 10 times those for a total of 90 minutes. If the wod seems fun, I might opt for it instead or then the C2 challenges. My worry is that I won’t see a lot of progress as there is no plan behind what I’m doing. So I hunt for a good training plan app for two reasons: 1) to help keep me motivated and 2) to help keeping the training efficient.

I'd add swimming too, it works shoulders wonderfully.

Any 4-sport plan is going to be little complex; maybe easier to use C2's WODs. How is up to us anyway.
