PM5 slow to power off

Post by Rowan McSheen » June 3rd, 2023, 7:28 am

I upload my workouts by connecting the PM5 to the laptop and the C2 Utility. The PM5 is supposed to power down automatically after (?4) minutes of inactivity and usually does after I've unplugged the cable from the laptop. But once in a while it takes a lot longer. This happened today -- the screen stayed on for about 10 minutes or so before going blank.

It's a very minor inconvenience but I thought I'd ask if it means anything that I should know about.

Don't know why it stays active longer, but anytime I don't want to use the PM5 no longer, I shut it down manually. Press menu button 4 times.

Could it be a Bluetooth connection to it from phone etc keeping it up?

I also just always press menu 4 times to offline it

No bluetooth, occasional use of ant+ hrm.

I didn't know the 4 x menu trick. Thank you gentlemen.

Also you can shut it down from the main menu by simply pressing and holding the menu button for a few seconds

I presume you have the latest firmware version on your PM5 if you are using the C2 Utility all the time ?

Just to be clear, this is four times from the main menu. If you are in a sub-menu (like an active workout) you need to push more than four in total: enough to get to the main menu, then four more.
