Returning to rowing after vasectomy

I wanted to see if anyone here had personal experience with returning to rowing following a vasectomy

I had mine on 8/19, and recovery has gone well so far. The physician who did the procedure recommended a week of complete rest, and I’m going to stick to that, and then ease back over the next few weeks with only easy erging. I’d rather take it slow returning to rowing than rush back and have a major setback that forces me to miss more time.

Not returning to rowing as I wasn't rowing at this point of time, but back to intense bodyweight and weights training.
I also followed the advice of 1 week break, had some slight issues the first 3-4 days anyway.
But then returned back to training and two to three weeks later I was back on full intensity.

I had mine about 3 years ago and had no problems, doc told me to take it easy for the first week, started with easy rowing after 2 days rest, no issues, but had friends who needed longer rest and had (minor) issues, so I think I had luck

I can't remember any mention of recovery, it's a pretty minor procedure.

I was on a bit longer hiatus from rowing around the time I got mine, so I don't know how long it would have taken to get back into it after the vasectomy, but I can say I had and continue to have minor issues with sensitivity when I row. It mainly happens when things aren't properly adjusted. As long as I'm wearing compression shorts or snug shorts (trou or a uni would probably provide the needed support, but I've never owned either), and I do some arrangement before I hop on the seat, things are fine.

minor proceedure when i got mine done all be it circa 23 years ago the Dr said i had the worst reaction he had ever seen in many hundreds if not thousands of ops. my wife nearly freaked out as she was there for support. done under local but ended with me out to it as to be frank someone slashing around the boys with a scalpel was not a happy time for me. to top it off when i got home and was resting up on the couch my oldest (then about 4) came and put the elbow in. needless to say the roof lifted by a couple of feet. a mate of mine got his done and asked if it was normal that his boys grew to about the size of a grapefruit each. told him to rush to the Drs immediately where over a litre of blood was removed.

Every OP has at least a minor risk. This is why I try them to avoid as much as possible
I only had some sensetivity issues from time to time for 5-6 month perhaps, then gone. Would do it again.

Wow! only two days rest, very ambitious.

I can't remember any mention of recovery, it's a pretty minor procedure.

Any procedure, no matter how minor carries risk of complication - infection, hematoma, etc. I prefer to be more cautious.

Yikes! that sounds terrible (for both you and your mate).

Luckily my recovery has gone as planned. I went for a long walk today with no issues, I'll return to work tomorrow, and hopefully return to rowing on Saturday.
