I kind of want to go, but I am only 15yrs old, 65kg, and my best 2k is a 7:35. Keep in mind that I pulled that last year. I am pretty sure I could do better now.

I say go. Just to see what it is all about.

The second time ( next year ) you will perform better because you know what to expect.

Don't worry about times when going. Look at it as a chance to see some really great athletes pull and learn how they approach the piece. That's the best thing to take away from it. Now having said that, I would also say for anyone going; do you want to spend the time necessary to travel to Boston to pull a 2k that could be done at home? From the pov of getting to watch elite and pre-elite level athletes, its very cool. From the expense and amount of time pov, stay home. Ultimately up to you though, if you will enjoy it then go for it.

I erged for the first time last November at my local Gold's gym, and compteted at the Crash-B's in February, just 3 months after starting. Was I ready? No. Did I have fun, get energized, and motivated? Absolutely! Go for it, it's a fun day as competitior or spectator.

Hank Greenblatt

The first two times I went to the CRASH-Bs, I got my posterior handed to me by nearly every other competitor. While my scores were nowhere near hammer-worthy, to be rowing in a world-class competition with some of the best in the world was a high second to none.

I don't expect to be finishing that well overall this year, but this year I'm concentrating on achieving new personal bests during competition, which I will hopefully achieve for this year.
