Greetings to all who are making their way through the current events.
I find myself at home like others and working with my new Model D with PM5.
It is the same machine as at my gym and I jumped quickly to buy a machine as things started to shut down.
I have been using a printer cable which has a Type B connection on one end and a Type A on the other. I also have an A to C adapter and then connect to my Samsung S8. The connection works just fine. No problems at the gym (previously) and no problems here at home on my new machine.
With the new machine, I bought the cradle and cable. the cable has a microUSB connection. I have a microUSB to Type C adapter.
It does not work. No data connection at all.
I called Concept 2 and the C/S person told me that cable do not work with the PM5. I told her it does. She said it does not.
I explained that I have been using a cable for years but it is long and I liked the idea of the cradle with a shorter cable and she told me the web site specifically says it does not work. I will not get into semantics of what the web site says as my interpretation is different.
Suffice it to say but does anybody have any experience getting the short cable with the Type B connection and a microUSB to Type C connection work?
I do not like the bluetooth connection as it interferes with my headphones as I connect to a tablet while working out. It is a nice setup to help time pass by.
Thank you very much in advance.
Sal

Re: Ergdata cable for Type C Android connection
Thank you for finding that USB Type C cable for me. I was searching a little too detailed as I should have just looked for a Type C printer cable connection. the shortest is one meter but it is better than the two meter one I have.
The Concept 2 connection was ideal but it just does not work.
Thank you again.

Im confused why are you not using The Bluetooth on the PM5 to connect to your smartphone ? You dont need a cable. Shouldn't have any interference what phone have you got ?

Re: Ergdata cable for Type C Android connection
My setup is such that I use my Bluetooth headset with a tablet at my feet. I watch a movie during my 10K
The Bluetooth on the phone, when active, interferes sometimes with my connection to the tablet as I use the same headset.
The cable connection is simpler and I have used it for years at the gym (gym now closed). One other thing I noticed at the gym is that my phone will power the PM5 when the battery is low.
Lastly, is much e just to plug in the phone that the Bluetooth connection and there is not a drop.
I sent a video of the connection issue to Concept 2 and they are sending me a replacement cable as it might be defective. If the second cable, does not work, then it is likely the OTG adapter. I will in the meantime get another one of those too.
To answer your question though, I am not worried about the phone; I have other use for Bluetooth in the immediate setting.
I have been using the same setup with a cable connection for years, I was just trying to simplify the connection with a shorter cable than the one I am using. I was just wondering if anybody else has had the same findings.
