New Boat Recommendations?

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

New Boat Recommendations?

Post by foreverlw » December 30th, 2013, 4:56 pm

Hi,

I'm one of the juniors at a small club in the UK, and it looks like we might have enough money left from our new boathouse build for a few new boats. I'm looking for some recommendations as for the boat best suited to my crew- bearing in mind that we're not made of money!

We're a J17 coxless quad, with a weight range of 62kg (me!) up to about 80kg. We've rowed together for quite some time, so we're looking for something to maximise our speed, especially given our relative lack of weight. At the moment, we row in a few-years-old Janousek 4x- (I think it's a JS....), but I really like the look of the WinTexch coxless quads....

Any advice?

Have you posted this on the UK forum as well? I am sure that you would get better results there. (Cf. TheRowingCompany)

My club has a 1 year old wintech coxless quad. It is a beautiful boat. Stiff, responsive and sets very well. We have two sets of riggers so it can be used as a 4- or 4x.

Wintech quality is quite high in the past couple of years.
